Easy way to get stinking rich in the beginningContributed by Raidersonthestorm (5) on Dec 13, 2006.

This involves piracy at the Colorado jump hole as Rogues and Junkers (Xenos very rarely, actually I cannot remember whether I saw them carrying these items) sometimes ship the most valuable cargo in the game - Alien Organisms (best cargo by a mile), Cardamine, Artifacts and Luxury food.

To successfully enjoy piracy right after first official mission, I recommend following:

  • [1] Make Rogues neutral - it saves a lot of needless hassle at the jump hole, when you need not constantly fight off hordes of Rogues, Xenos and Junkers (who start to hate you, when you kill too many Rogues, not to mention Junkers themselves). That means NEVER shoot at Rogues (even when they hate you at the start - just run away) or Junkers, but ONLY Xenos - since in New York you cannot make them friendly or neutral. The more you kill Xenos (my method is to travel to Detroit and start massacre of Xenos there till Rogues aren't hostile anymore), the sooner Rogues will became neutral. After that the only fraction which will attack you at the jump hole will be Xenos but that's unavoidable in the beginning of the game - you cannot make all fractions at least neutral yet.

  • [2] Get a Rhino and fully equip it with guns and shield (and batteries and nanobots). Of course, it is more risky than with Defender (which, IMO, is the best ship in Liberty) but Rhino has 80 empty slots for cargo, comparing to just 30 in Defender).

  • [3] Float around jump hole and constantly scan all cargo ships (for Rogues it's Mule) and Junker ships. When you see a Junker or Rogue ship carrying Alien Organisms, Cardamine or something else very valuable - ATTACK. After looting go to the best selling place - for Alien Organisms it's Newark station (1800 credits for each one, sure, you'll lose one (max. two) when travelling but still 78 remain. You do the math. For Cardamine and Artifacts best selling place officially is Manhattan but I prefer Junkers Rochester base - price difference is very insignificant but way to the base is absolutely safe - no police, no scanning for contraband and the distance is a bit shorter.

  • [4] Attack only when you see REALLY VALUABLE cargo. You can save time considerably. I even usually ignore Silver which is quite valuable - about 600 credits and sometimes do not attack for Gold or Niobium (about 800 and 900 credits respectively) when I hope to get better loot. But Gold and Niobium still are good loot, however no match for Alien Organisms and Cardamine.
Of course, this requires a bit of patience but it is possible to be a millionaire after couple of hours (if you're lucky and there are plenty of valuable cargo - it is possible within an hour) and that means you will not need to worry about money anymore. About 2,5 million credits are enough for maximum level in this game but I usually get 3 or 4 million before starting second mission in the game, just to be really stinking rich. :)
