Fren-ze
Description
Fren-ze is a fast-paced bullet hell shooter. Originally released as a hidden PS2 game on a covermount disc, it was later ported to a proper PC release. The game consists of four levels, each with a boss at the end. Players can also unlock practice games for each of the levels as well as boss fights and a boss rush where all final enemies need to be defeated one after another.
The ship starts with a limited amount of lives. Defeated enemies leave behind "blues". These can be used to activate a temporary shield. To regain the spent blue six enemy bullets need to be reflected. Stronger enemies leave behind yellow orbs that improve firepower, often by changing the pattern or adding more bullets.
The game can be played in different directions: horizontally-scrolling, vertically-scrolling, or rotated.
