Front Page Sports: Baseball Pro '98

So, what's the verdict? Simply this: if you love stats and the idea of controlling every aspect of your team as a GM / Owner / Manager, you'll love this game. If you want the thrill of hitting home runs and running around the bases yourself, pick up Triple Play '98. If you want both, this will satisfy most of one, and a little of the other.

Um es vorwegzunehmen: Freunde des Schlagsports werden diesmal kaum ein Feature vermissen, an alles wurde gedacht. Sämtliche Major League-Teams messen sich in sämtlichen Original-Stadien, dem Team-Management sind kaum Grenzen gesetzt, Wetteränderungen wirken sich auf die Spiele aus, und sogar ein Editor wird gleich mitgeliefert. Was besonders Europäer freuen dürfte: Auch an weniger bewanderte Ballfetischisten wurde gedacht. Die Spieler-Kontrolle läßt sich in drei Schwierigkeitsgraden abstufen. Schade nur, daß die farb- und detailarme Grafik den Gesamteindruck etwas trübt. Baseball-Fans kann die zweitbeste Simulation nach Hardball 6 dennoch ans Herz gelegt werden.

Eigentlich ist Baseball ein ziemlich umkompliziertes und auch etwas ödes Spiel. Trotzdem haben es über die Jahre hinweg wieder SImulationen geschafft, Spannung zu erzeugen. Leider trifft dies nur teilweise auf DSF Baseball Pro 98 zu.
