Night has fallen, and Gabriel is still hanging around in the courtyard. Exit the courtyard and notice that the cavalry has now arrived. After the cut-scene, exit the hotel and follow MacDougall and Mallory to the church cemetery. There, click on the large tomb nearby and select Hide from the list that appears. The Scots bully around the Abbé, then leave. When they do, quickly use the tape recorder on the window to record the Abbé's phone conversation.
When done with that, enter the hotel and go into the dining room. When Gabriel enters, he hears a conversation between Buchelli and Wilkes. When they're finished, talk to Wilkes first, and then to Buchelli. Go to the lobby and speak to Simone, the night clerk, about all topics. Then go to the courtyard and get on the Harley. See the dot roaming the valley? That represents the Scots' car. Go to Chateau de Blanchefort and follow them when they drive past. Following them takes you near Larry Chester's house.
Return to Chateau de Blanchefort and head on up to Chester's house, and hide behind the big tree closest to the well. Watch the following cut-scene and pay attention to their secret handshake. Now return to the parking lot and get on the Harley. Find Rennes-le-Bain, and travel there.
Enter the San Gréal tavern and chat with Wilkes and Buchelli. When you are done, exit the tavern and inspect Buchelli's moped license plate. As usual, use your notebook on the plate. Get on the Harley and travel to Rennes-le-Chateau.
Use the notebook on Howard and Stile's moped plate. Enter the hotel and talk to Emilio sitting in the lounge area. Go into the dining room to strike up a conversation between Howard, Stiles, and Buchane. When you are finished here, go up the stairs and enter Gabriel's room.
You will automatically start up a conversation between Grace and Mosely. Talk to them both about all subjects. When Mosely asks about the handshake, show him the handshake you learnt from watching Chester and the Scots. (If you show him incorrectly, you'll receive no points.) Listen to Mosely as he tells you about the handshake. After the conversation is finished, Gabriel asks Grace to do some research on vampires and on the holy grail. Eventually, all of you will head down to the dining room for dinner, and the first day will end.
