Gabriel has a five-minute timer before the tour commences, and you need to do a few things before then. When you go out into the hall, use the glass on Buthane's door to hear something in French, and do the same with Lady Howard and Stile's door. Head downstairs and enter the phone area. Use the tape recorder on the booth that Buchelli is in to record his conversation. The time should have expired by now, and Buchelli will leave the booth and head for the lounge. There, talk to him and Wilkes, making note of their glasses.
In the hotel lobby, talk to Jean about the killing and then return to your bedroom where Grace can be seen on the sofa reading the Holy Grail book. Talk to her about all topics. Exit the hotel and go to the top of Tour Magadala. There, look at the Abbé and speak to him. When you are done, go to the moped courtyard and drive the Harley to the Devil's Armchair. (From now on, look for the locations yourself.)
At the parking lot, cross the road and head up the path. Gabriel will start a conversation up with Mosely. When the first list of choices appear, select the vampires one. Speak to Mosely about the dead bodies of MacDougall and Mallory and then choose the Abbé. Speak to Mosely about the tour group. When you are finished, look at and think about the dead bodies' heard, torso, and the gash on the throat. Search the ground until you find a pool of blood. Look at this, as well as the indentations nearby. Have a think about the indentations. This triggers a cut-scene in which Gabriel's 'inner eye' shows him what could of made those marks.
After the cut-scene, think about the indentations again. This time, Gabriel's 'inner eye' shows him why there weren't any footprints from the assailants. Leave the Armchair. While you are leaving, Mosely and Gabriel will encounter a suspicious Buthane. Once at the parking lot, Mosely will ask to be driven to Rennes-Le-Chateau since he doesn't have any other way. Once you have dropped him off, return to the Armchair.
A lot can change in five minutes. The French police are now on the scene. Try to enter. The police say that you don't have permission to enter. Bummer. Go back to the Harley and look at the tracks and then follow them to wherever they go. You will arrive at the Scot's car, opposite the crime scene. Use your notepad on one of the tires to get the tire tread. Return to the Harley and drive to L'Ermitage.
In the parking lot, walk around the area until you find some more tire tracks, then use the tire tread pattern on them to get them compared. The two patterns match. Get back on the Harley and head to Larry Chester's house. When you get there, find the tire tracks near Chester's car and use the tire pattern on them. The Scots were definitely here. Knock on the door to have Chester answer the door. You will be escorted to his study. There, talk to him about all subjects until Gabriel is thrown out of the house. Watch the following cut-scene where Gabriel is peeking through the window, spying on Chester as he is just finishing a phone call, set his alarm clock, and go up to the ruins.
After Chester has gone, use the hanger on the crack in the window to find that Chester has set his alarm to 2 a.m.. Head to the ruins. Larry is looking at something through his binoculars. Go to the Chateau de Blanchefort parking lot, get on the Harley, and travel to Rennes-le-Chateau. Go to the hotel. As he enters, Emilio and Stiles collide with each other, and Emilio heads to the lounge, while Stiles leaves the hotel. Go back outside to see Stiles taking off with her moped. Go to the moped courtyard and go to Chateau de Blanchefort. Wait for Stiles to drive by, then follow her to some site.
Get off the Harley and find the ravine that leads up the path, then follow it until you find Estelle. Talk to her about all subjects to find out about the relationship between her and Lady Howard. After you are done with her, go back to the Harley and return to Rennes-le-Chateau. Get back in the hotel and enter the phone booth area. Use the card on one of the phones to contact Prince James. Tell him about everything that happened so far. Once the conversation is over, go up to the bedroom. If you happen to be sidetracked by Jean, get him to tell Simone to buzz your room at 2 a.m.
When Gabriel enters the room, Mosely will enter and Grace tells everyone what she has in that book. When the list of topics come up, discuss every last one of 'em. This may be boring to you, but it has to be done. When you are done with that, Grace will read an excerpt about the Stewarts. Mosely will leave his pop bottle on the table as he leaves. Dust the bottle for prints, use the tape on it, and put the tape in a baggie. Head down into the lobby.
Head over to the lounge area and dust Wilkesy's glass (green-colored) for prints. Use the tape on the print and put that into a bag. If you did not ask Jean for the wake-up call, make sure to do it now. Otherwise, return to the bedroom and access Sidney. Scan Wilkes' fingerprint into SIDNEY as well as the audio tape that has Buchelli's conversations. Under the suspects menu, go to John Wilkes' file and link his fingerprint to him. Go to the Translate menu and get the tape translated from Italian to English.
Time to investigate Montreaux. You can't get in the mansion just by saying that you're an author, so it looks like you are going to have to go undercover. Go to Make ID and select Gabriel's picture, then go to the Reporter menu and select the New York Times. Click on PRINT IDENTIFICATION. A fake ID will be printed out. With it, get yourself over to Chateau de Serres.
Go through the gate and locate the tire tracks in the parking area and use the tread mark that you traced to get the tracks compared. Yet another match! Go back to the courtyard and knock on the door of the mansion. Marseau will appear, asking who you are. Show him the fake ID and you will meet Excelsior Montreaux. Talk to him about all subjects to get the background behind him. When you are done with him, get back on the Harley and return to Rennes-le-Chateau. Enter the hotel and go up into your bedroom. There, Gabriel talks to Grace about his findings on Montreaux and Chester. He then takes Mosely to dinner, leaving Grace to do a little bit of work. This ends the timeblock. |
