18. Day 3 - End Game (9PM-12AM)Contributed by Black Wolf (37242) on Aug 09, 2005.

Time now to find the baby. This day starts with Gabriel, Mesmi, Grace, and Mosely going to the Temple of Solomon. There, the group talk about the situation at hand and work out who is going into the temple and who is staying behind to assist them. At the end, they work out that Gabriel, Mesmi, and Mosely are to enter, while Grace and Emilio stay back and assist them.

Gabriel and his team enter the temple only to discover that the floor resembles a chessboard. Gabriel will point out that the tiles look like traps. This is your first puzzle. The object of this puzzle is to get all of the “sword“ tiles to go out, but make sure the one in front of the “circle” door is the last one you stand on. Before you get ahead of yourself, study the board very carefully. Inspecting the floor will give you an excellent overhead view of the board, making it easier to study. Before you start, click on a blank tile and ask Grace about it. Think about one of the four doors that you will have to go through into the next room. Here are some rules:

  • To start you off, you must step onto a tile in the first horizontal row.
  • After making the first move, you can only move like a knight would in chess.
  • You cannot land on a “skull” tile.
  • When you move to a tile other than the “sword” tile, the tile drops down through the floor.
  • The “sword” tile in front of the “circle” door must be the last one.

If you make a mistake and step on the wrong tile, go back to where Mesmi and Mosely are standing, to make the puzzle reset. If you can't be bothered with this puzzle, refer to the Chessboard Puzzle for the solution for how to get to one of the four doors.

Once you have gotten through one of the doors, you will face the next puzzle. A large pendulum swings in the middle of the room back and forth into the slots on opposite sides of the room, and the floor in front of you is rotating. To solve this puzzle, step onto the floor, but avoid the pendulum. If you feel that the pendulum will come right at you when you are standing on a certain spot, then move somewhere else. When you get close to the pendulum without getting hit, click on the pendulum and get on. Time your next move carefully. You need to drop down to the podium, and once you do, the pendulum will stop swinging.

Six gold ingots and a balance are sitting on the podium. The ingots consist of various shapes. The balance is being weighed down by a gold block, so you should automatically figure that you have to balance the scale out by placing the correct ingots on the scale. Click on the scale and talk to Grace about it, then place the ingots on the scale in this order: gold infinity symbol, golden egg, gold pomegranate. After this, the podium will lower down to the floor, allowing you to get off. Meanwhile, Grace starts to become curious about the 'Wandering Jew' and Emilio will tell another one of his boring stories.

When we see Gabriel again, he has arrived in the hexagram chamber. At the entrance to the chamber, an inscription and a statue of King Solomon can be found. Click on the inscription and have Grace translates it. It means 'Beware! Only the initiates of the mysteries of the seal may survive'. Radio Grace again and she will tell you about the statue.

Enter the hexagram room and into the room with the two statues, one is the devil and the other is the angel. Click on the podium and talk to Grace about the inscription and get it translated. It means 'choose a master'. Go to the area with the two basins, and inspect both basins to see that there is a stone in them. Click on the podium and talk to Grace to get the inscription translated. It means 'choose one'. Now go to the room with the two gloves. Here, take the leather glove and Gabriel will wear them. Go back to the two basins and get the stone sitting in the fire basin. Return to the room with the two statues and place the stone on the devil. This causes the dark areas to lighten, and the light areas to darken.

Go into the room that has the mirrors and a pointer switch. Move this switch left to activate the buttons across the room. Go to the room with the buttons and talk to Grace to get the translation of the phrase. It means 'Identify the nature of your mind' . Push the button that looks like a Yin/Yang to make the doors in the final area open, and to have Gabriel exit through those doors.

You will meet Mesmi and Mosely here. There are supposed to be two bridges in this room, but one is missing. Walk Gabriel up to the edge of this bridge and a tile will light up. Quickly click on it before it disappears and Gabriel will jump onto it. Another tile will light up. Do the same thing for this one, then repeat this process until you get to the other side. The rest of the team joins him here. Montreaux's henchmen come out from the other side of the door, and stir up trouble for Mosely and Mesmi. Gabriel, meanwhile, goes to the other side.

Gabriel sees Montreaux looming over the Prince's baby. When he interrupts the ceremony, Montreaux mumbles something that cause one of the pillars to transform into a huge demon. This is Asmodeus, guardian of sacred treasure. You will automatically bring out the talisman and the dagger. Quickly radio Grace, who points out two facts: demons tend to have one vulnerable spot, and a demon's wound also affects its maker. Remember the first thing you have to do when you came face-to-face with Tetelo in GK1? You have to do the same thing here, and use the talisman on the demon to temporarily slow it. Now head toward the sarcophagus in the back of the room, and climb on to it. Use the talisman on the demon, and it will expose its neck. Use the dagger on the exposed neck to kill it. Now watch the final cut-scene in the game.
