Gadget: Invention, Travel & Adventure

Je kunt je afvragen waarom Cryo dit oudbakken spel nog een keer opwarmt. Op de Mac was het spel al geen groot succes du 'why bother again?' zou je zeggen. Gadget is overigens geen hopeloos slecht spel maar we zijn gewoon beter van Cryo gewend.

Gadget är kanske inte ett äventyr som man sitter länge med, men det håller en garanterat fastnaglad framför skärmen så länge det varar.

However, I must give credit to the lush renderings and quicktime movies. Mild applause here, but Gadget just doesn't live up to it's billing. It's not a game, and it makes for a very dull (and expensive) evening at the movies. Go rent a video instead.

Overall, Gadget: Invention, Travel & Adventure succeeds mildly as an interactive movie but fails miserably as an adventure game. The surrealistic atmosphere it manages to create is truly involving. However, the game lacks the gameplay necessary to call itself a classic adventure, since all the interaction with the player is totally limited to a simple linear clicking exercise.

No cabe duda que se trata de una apuesta original y bastante arriesgada, incluso tiene algunos momentos memorables (como el meteorito que corta la via del tren), pero no, no nos acaba de convencer.
