Halls of the Dead ist ein Rollenspiel der alten Schule. Eine gigantische Umgebung lädt zum Erforschen ein, das Kampfsystem ist umfangreich und an abwechslungsreichen Minimissionen herrscht kein Mangel. Fans des Genres, die seinerzeit Faery Tale auf dem Amiga geliebt haben, sind zufrieden. Alle anderen werden aber kaum glühende Rollenspielfanatiker.

Halls of the Dead is a solid RPG in the old style but one that lacks the features gamers have come to expect, and one that also falls short in several traditional areas, such as NPC conversation and information gathering. NPCs are also fairly brain-dead, not responding to battles, thefts, or other mayhem around them. Add in a few logic bugs, such as monsters bearing key items not being where they are supposed to be sometimes, and lackluster combat, and the result is an average game. For gamers eager for the days of yore, however, this is one RPG that should satisfy the traditionalist.
