King of the RoadThis game is often confused with King of the Road. Both were developed by Softlab-NSK and they share the same engine and the larger half of the concept. King of the Road, however, was never released in North America. The European variant has many fixes and steep improvements to the gameplay itself.
The original version was first released in Russia and was titled Dal'noboyshchiki 2 and then Hard Truck 2 in English. The European King of the Road version was not released in the developer's home country until May 2003, when 1C Company published a special 2-disc edition, again with the title Dal'noboyshchiki 2. That time, however, it was the Russian version of King of the Road, patched to version 8.0. Therefore, the Russian title Dal'noboyshchiki 2 is used to refer to both games.
