Auch wenn Hidden & Dangerous 2 als Taktik-Shooter über die Ladentheke wandert, brauchen Sie sich weder im Hauptprogramm noch im Add-on Sabre Squadron schleichend hinter Büschen zu verstecken. Bereits im Originalspiel war es angesagt, aus der Ego-Perspektive Feinde um die virtuelle Ecke zu bringen. Hauptsächlich lag das an der orientierungslosen KI Ihrer drei digitalen Mitstreiter, die taktisches Vorgehen nur mit Mühe möglich machte. Die Erweiterung Sabre Squadron ändert nichts daran. Noch immer macht es mehr Spaß, den Feinden direkt gegenüberzustehen, statt das Team aus der dritten Person zu befehligen.

Pour à peine 20 euros, voilà une galette additionnelle que les aficionados de Hidden & Dangerous 2 ne devraient surtout pas rater. La nouvelle campagne solo se montre à la hauteur du volet précédent même si on doit jongler avec une IA toujours pas au top des exigences. Mais la présence du mode coopératif fera vite oublier cet aspect du jeu. Dommage qu'Illusion Softwork n'ait pas étendu/ ce dernier à l'ensemble des maps du jeu original.

Enkel voor Hidden & Dangerous 2 veteranen die cooperative multiplayer willen. Op singleplayer gebied heb je het allemaal al eens eerder gezien.

Hidden & Dangerous 2: Sabre Squadron is a good expansion to the original game. It's true that the new missions feel like ones you've already played before, and it's also true that major micromanagement and AI problems--again--rear their ugly heads. Moreover, some serious bugs can cause the game to lock up or fail to save and load games properly, among various other issues. Beyond its co-op play, most Hidden & Dangerous 2 players probably won't find too much of interest in Sabre Squadron. However, fans of the game should by all means check it out, particularly since it retails for only about $10. That's a lot of WWII bang for your buck.

Getan hat sich nicht viel. Lediglich neue Missionen und ein etwas besseres Level-Design hat dieses Add-On gegenüber dem Hauptprogramm zu bieten. Wer von Hidden & Dangerous 2 also begeistert war und sich an einem hohen Schwierigkeitsgrad nicht stört, findet hier den idealen Taktik-Nachschub. Neulinge sollten einen weiten Bogen um die H&D-Serie machen und sich bei eventuell auftretenden Taktik-Gelüsten an einfachere Titel wenden.

En un an, le jeu a considérablement vieilli, mais l'absence de concurrents lui permet de rester l'un des meilleurs FPS d'infiltration. Les missions étant conçues pour favoriser le jeu en équipe et la tactique, le mod Coop de Sabre Squadron est l'un des meilleurs jamais réalisé et justifie à lui seul l'achat de cette extension. Avec la sortie de H&D2 : Courage Under Fire qui inclue le jeu original plus Sabre Squadron pour seulement 20 euros, ce serait dommage de vous priver.

If you really liked H&D2, you will likely forgive these shortcomings and have a pretty decent romp through the expansive levels. If you didn't, there's still the old problems. We also had some significant stability issues, even after installing the patch. The game would often crash when re-loading a save game, and a couple times we had to restart the computer to restore functionality. I also found myself popping into and getting stuck in objects every once in a while. The reload crash wouldn't be so bad if death and dismemberment weren't so easy to come by, and I found that switching to a new leader would unstuck me from the buildings. But overall, the game needs some more technical polish and more extensive AI.

I used to hear quite a few mixed comments when the first Hidden and Dangerous was released. Many people found that the game wasn't as good as it could have been but on the other hand, many people were able to look past its faults and found the game fun nonetheless. There are a few things that I demand from a game if I am to enjoy it and this sequel is missing a few key things that would allow me to recommend it. Hidden and Dangerous 2 is much like its predecessor in that only a few gamers with enough patience will be able to look past the game's shortcomings and develop a love for it.

Bis auf KI und Leveldesign ist alles wie gehabt - auch Sabre Squadron bringt mich mit seiner umständlichen Steuerung auf die Palme. Warum kann ich nicht einfach eine Tür öffnen, indem ich sie anklicke? Oder schlicht durchlaufe? Immerhin ist der Multiplayer-Modus nicht ganz so frustrierend.
