Francesca DiPorta must find Botticelli's stolen masterpiece "The Birth of Venus", hidden by the thief in the Italian village of Castiglionbasso.

Insider Tales: The Stolen Venus is hidden object game, where the player must find and click on all the items listed at the bottom of the screen, on scenes filled with assorted objects. Clicking on one of the list items shows its silhouette in a Polaroid photo at the bottom left. The standard variations of gameplay are included: sometimes the screen is split in two similar images, and the player must click on the differences. In some places, the goal is to find several instances of the same object. Some locations replace the list with images of the objects, and the objective is to find their pieces scattered on the scenery.

Besides implementations of classic games, like jigsaw puzzles, Pipe Dream, Simon and concentration, the game also has other mini-games, where the player must slide wood blocks in a box and fit tetrominoes pieces in a small square. The hint button shows the position of one of the required objects, but takes time to recharge after use.
