Killer Loop

No graphics, sounds and simple controls could make up for a lack of a good sense of velocity. It is this particular thing that makes this game surpass its competition. The speed varies from 100-400 km/h and you will always feel how fast you are moving. The brim of the track adds to the illusion of speed. Constant Rising and diving will make you feel you are on a death ride. The feeling of speed, and fierce, but not unbeatable enemies will make you keep coming back to this game.

In the early stages of your killer looping, I suggest stacking up a few bottles of whatever calms your nerves best. Losing your momentum and going backwards after you have missed the green acceleration particles may stress you out a tad, and hitting an opposing player's landmine does tend to make some of us rather irritated as well -- but in the end, it's all worth it. Killer Loop is one of the best arcade racers I've played in years, and it's definitely worth laying down your hard earned money for. There just isn't an arcade racer out there they combines speed, a great feeling physics engine, and innovative track design like Killer Loop. Now if Crave would just get this bad boy out in the States ...

Wenn Ihnen in Achterbahnen schlecht wird, dann ist Killer Loop nichts für Sie. Wenn Sie aber einen guten Orientierungssinn haben, sollten Sie sich das Spiel unbedingt ansehen. Die schier unglaublich verdrehten Strecken sorgten im Kollegenkreis für erstunte Gesichter. Die Grafik ist beeindruckend - und schnell! In der Besonderheit des Spiels liegt aber auch sein größtes Manko: Weil die Kurse fast nur aus Schleifen bestehen, sehen Sie selten, was vor Ihnen liegt - und krachen häufig in die Bande. Erst, wenn Sie jede Kurve auswendig kennen, sind Siege möglich. Als cooles Action-Rennspiel ist Killer Loop im Moment konkurrenzlos. Und deshalb müssen Profis einfach zugreifen.

Un jeu qui tient la route et qui offre une certaine originalité. En le décortiquant, on trouvera toujours mieux autre part mais Killer Loop reste un jeu speed et fun, doté d’une réalisation sans faille.

Despite these flaws, Killer Loop is fast-paced and fun. While you're forced to race on many of the same tracks for most of the game, said tracks are definitely above average from a design perspective, making the repetition a bit easier to handle. Top it all off with some bangin' techno tunes and a fantastic front-end menu, and you've got a racing game that should appeal to just about any fan of futuristic racers.

Die Magnet-Idee sorgt für spektakuläre Momente, das allein reicht aber nicht, um das Spiel in die höheren Ebenen der Rennspiele zu katapultieren. Ärgerlich ist zudem, dass man die hart erkämpften Bonus-Strecken nicht gleich mit allen Tripods befahren darf. Insgesamt ein rasantes, nettes Spiel, das für eine Weile durchaus Laune macht, dem es aber an frischen Ideen, vielfältigen Optionen, einer Story und größerem Umfang mangelt. Geschwindigkeits-Fanatiker mit flinkem Händchen sollten sich durchaus für eine Probe-Runde auf die Piste begeben, aber bitte: Anschnallen nicht vergessen!

Die blitzschnelle Grafik von Killer Loop wird mit fehlenden Details erkauft, auch das ganz und gar nicht vorhandene Fahrmodell der futuristischen Gleiter erklärt die hohen Geschwindigkeiten. Auf den steril und ideenlos gestalteten Strecken finden sich Extras, mit denen den Gegnern das Leben schwer gemacht oder das eigene "Fahrzeug" repariert werden kann.
