King's Bounty: Armored Princess was a wonderful game to play and now this expansion and new version is even better! If you like RPGs, I highly recommend that you pick up the new King's Bounty: Crossworlds today.
Crossworlds is available in three editions: packaged with Armored Princess, as a simple upgrade for AP or accompanied by both previous titles of the series. Some of those who’ve already gone through everything Armored Princess had to offer might argue that the novelties of Orcs on the March are insufficient for a replay. And this is why I recommend a healthy dose of patience, because I’m sure that in the near future we will see fan-made campaigns that will satisfy even the most pretentious fans. As for the multiplayer, that’s where King’s Bounty Online will probably come in.
Gaming Nexus
All in all, King's Bounty: Crossworlds is a welcome addition to this very enjoyable series. Crossworlds is available in three versions--as an expansion to Armored Princess, as a standalone bundled with the previous title, or as a platinum edition complete with the original King's Bounty: The Legend, perfect for those wanting to dive headfirst into this thoroughly entertaining fantasy series.

Although King's Bounty: Crossworlds feels awfully familiar, it is also the best version of the strategy role-playing hybrid yet released. The recycling of some content is a bit disappointing, but the Armored Princess campaign has been spruced up and expanded, while the new mini-campaigns expand on the tactical nature of battles and let you fight monstrous foes on murderous maps right off the bat. Even though there isn't anything dramatically new here, the gameplay is so refined and the combat so well designed that you can't help but get drawn into many more hours with one of the most consistently impressive strategy role-playing franchises out there.
Strategy Informer
King's Bounty: Crossworlds turns out to be a bit of a King's Bounty in terms of RPG action. The combination of strategy and role-playing still stands out from the crowd and the added bonus of so many extra quests, items and units crammed together really adds value to the game. For those who haven't played either of the King's Bounty titles it is a great way to get introduced to the series and for King's Bounty fans this is a great amount of content crammed onto one disc. This is a classic compendium of King's Bounty adventures and should be a welcome addition to any PC RPG gamer's collection.
PC Gamer
Although Crossworlds won’t rekindle your romance with the original Armoured Princess campaign, it offers enough content for veterans to justify the £15 purchase.
Hooked Gamers
King’s Bounty: Crossworlds is a great opportunity to start playing the entire Armored Princess campaign again, perhaps this time around as one of the classes you haven’t played before. It is not possible to carry whatever save games you have over to the new game but that is actually its saving grace: the depth and duration of the added content and classes leaves something to desire. Fortunately the expansion is easy on the wallet and Crossworlds’ basic gameplay is solid despite some of my reservations. If you have played King’s Bounty: Armored Princess in the past, the expansion is still worth a try, especially if you need an excuse to jump into the main campaign again. If you haven’t played it yet, you should, and this is the best version to procure.
If you haven’t yet stepped into the comical and stylized world of King’s Bounty, Crossworlds offers countless of hours to waste, provided you can deal with the steep learning curve of the combat mechanics. Fans will be pleased by the numerous additions, adding on hours of gameplay, those looking to further the story will find themselves disappointed.
Digital Chumps
King's Bounty: Crossworlds is the best version of the recent revival to the 20 year old strategy game. While it does provide a good amount of gameplay additions to the picture, the lack of a new lengthy campaign makes the game hard to replay for those who've already experienced Armored Princess. For strategy fans who haven't played through Armored Princess, though, the $29.99 bundle of it and this expansion is worth the price of admission (and for those who haven't played The Legend, $5 more is a real deal). However, gamers who've already experienced the original games will feel let down by the lack of meaningful content.
Cheat Code Central
King’s Bounty: Crossworlds is an odd game to review. At its core, it’s a rehash of the original Armored Princess, but with a myriad of updates and content. Considering this, it is difficult to comment too much on the game without feeling as if I’m writing a review on Armored Princess instead. Regardless, Crossworlds is an enticing package because of simply how much it has to offer gamers who love deep, turn-based strategy games similar to Heroes of Might and Magic. Its three versions makes it easy for newcomers like me to grab everything at once and enjoy what I’ve been missing, while also catering to the loyal fans who already own the previous versions. If you like this style of gameplay at all, you’ll like what Crossworlds has to offer. For $34.99 or less, depending on which version you want, you can’t get much more bang for your buck.
Reviewers oftentimes have difficulty succinctly putting how they feel about a game into one word. This is the easiest instance for me: disappointing. When I had heard about Crossworlds after sleuthing about on 1C's website, I couldn't wait for September. Now that I've played the game, I'm horrified. Was Armored Princess luck? I'd like not to think so, but if Crossworlds is any indication of the kind of work we can expect from future installments, I'll be dusting my Sega Genesis off for another go at nostalgia.
