Was bitte hat ein PC-Spieler von einem Lode-Runner-Update für Windows 95 mit neuen Levels und On-Line-Modus, wenn er weder über das passende Betriebssystem noch über Netzwerkanschluß verfügt? Gar nichts! Umso unverständlicher, warum Sierra nach der preiswerteren ersten Version jetzt eine "umfassende" nachschiebt, bei der ein Großteil der Kunden ausgegrenzt wird. Allzu verpassen diese, außer verfeinerter Grafik, allerdings nicht, denn die Rasanz der Zweispielerabschnitte hält sich in Grenzen. Egal ob man im Team oder gegeneinander spielt: Manche der vielen Levels sind schlicht langweilig.

Unless you really love puzzles, you probably wouldn't. Some puzzle games are great because of their graphics, sound, or humorous qualities (ie., The Lost Vikings), but LodeRunner doesn't excel in any of these areas. The graphics are decent for the size, but the size is the killer. Everything has to be so small that there isn't any room for graphic development. While the character animations appear to be smooth, they are so small it doesn't really matter. The sound isn't anything to be proud of either, but again, this game is not meant to appeal to graphics and sound buffs. Overall, this game is an absolute waste for anyone but a puzzle freak. Why spend hours upon hours running around stealing someone's gold for no apparent reason? I don't know, I wouldn't do it.
