Summary

A classic 'mech combat sim ...

The Good

All around excellent game - graphics, gameplay, multiplayer support ... great music and sounds ... I played it quite a bit.

The Bad

The game itself was fine: Activision's handling of it was pathetic. They must have released about 10 versions : DOS, Win95, Win95 optimized for Pentiums, a 3Dfx only release, multiple specific-videocard only releases, an enhanced graphics re-release (with no 3D support!) I ended up buying 3 or so of them before I got what I needed. Activision was unapologetic to boot ... they didn't even bother to reply when I mailed about possible trade-in rebate.

The Bottom Line

A great game - just buy the right version. :)
