Medieval: Total War - Viking Invasion

Fans of the original Medieval: Total War can breathe a sigh of relief. Viking Invasion shows that the developers still have an excellent handle on what makes a great strategy game. While the Viking Invasion sports a very different feel than the original game, it still stands as an outstanding achievement and easily enters the running for "Expansion Pack of the Year." If the level of quality continues to increase, Viking Invasion should be a success, not only in its own right, but also as a nice foretaste of we can expect in the upcoming Rome: Total War. Bravo Creative Assembly -- keep up the good work!

So viel Produktpflege ist vorbildlich, gerade das Kampf-Vorbereitungsmenü erweist sich als echte Wohltat! Die neue Kampagne taugt für mehrere Wochenenden, danach werden Sie aber zu den Kreuzzügen zurückkehren. Die sind einfach komplexer und profitieren ja auch von den Verbesserungen, unter anderem bei der strategischen und taktischen KI. Schade nur, dass es die Änderungen nicht einzeln per Patch geben wird. Aber den Kauf von Viking Invasion werden Sie nicht bereuen!

I like these guys at Creative Assembly; they don't skimp where others might. There's doesn't seem to be such at thing as half-assed to these guys and that's really appreciated by me and the gamers out there that have to shell out 30 dollars for an expansion pack. While I still tend to think that's a little high for an expansion, it seems to be the norm these days. I'm just glad that they actually made it much more worth the investment. Not only does it add a very new and entertaining Campaign experience with a lot of replay, but also buffs up the original game with new content meant to refine. Those fans that are looking to add to their Medieval experience won't be disappointed with the Viking Invasion expansion pack.

In a nutshell, it's pretty much a given that Medieval fans will love Viking Invasion. It not only brings new stuff, it also polishes the gameplay and fixes some bugs that have plagued the original release. For all intents and purposes, this is a very solid expansion pack. The fact still remains that the game obviously favors the Viking side, and that makes the campaign somewhat unbalanced (and certainly difficult if you don't chose the Viking), and the graphics are beginning to look old, but if you like a good challenge and depth in your strategy games, I suggest buying Viking Invasion. It's worth it.
