MotoGP 2

Motorcycle-racing fans have been stuck on the sidelines for far too long. It’s been almost three years since EA’s Superbike 2001, the last decent two-wheeled PC racing game. But the good news is that long-suffering bike fans need look no further than THQ’s MotoGP 2 for some refreshing bipedal speed thrills.

Quel jeu, mais quel jeu. Certes le titre ne plaira pas à tout le monde car plutôt axé arcade mais pour peu que vous aimiez le genre vous allez vous régaler. Le titre de THQ, en plus d'être beau et jouable, possède une excellente durée de vie et vous accrochera de longs moments. Si avec tout ça vous n'êtes pas satisfait, c'est que soit vous adorez chercher la petite bête soit vous critiquez un jeu qui n'est pas fait pour vous.

The real test of any sequel is how it improves upon the original. Sadly to say, in this regard, Moto GP 2 fails miserably. There are a few more tracks, unlockable highlights videos, improved graphics, and better crash visuals, but Moto GP 2 is in most respects the very same game as Moto GP. Hopefully, if THQ plans on rolling Moto GP 3 onto the track, there will be some notable additions.

Ich bremse binnen vier Sekunden von Tempo 300 auf 80 km/h und schlängle mich mit katzenhafter Anmut durch die Schikane. Beim anschließenden Beschleunigen hebt das Vorderrad ab und setzt gerade noch rechtzeitig auf, damit ich mich in die nächste Kurve lehnen kann. Das ist normal in MotoGP 2, das ist Adrenalin pur, das macht Laune! Neben den spannenden Rennen haben mich vor allem die Herausforderungen gepackt, die den typischen »Das muss doch zu schaffen sein!«-Virus auslösen. Angesichts dieser Dauermotivation sollten sich alle Motorrad- und Rennspiel-Fans das Fahrvergnügen gönnen.

MotoGP 2 may not have enough options to appeal to the hardcore gamer, but in my opinion, Moto GP 2 is one of the most amazing racers that I have ever played. Normally, I´m not into motorcycle games that much, definitely not the simulation types, but this game rocks :) Overall, MotoGP2 doesn't look substantially different from MotoGP, but it has some nice improvements that make it worth playing/buying. So, if you like motorcycle racing games, get it!

Facile d'être premier quand on est tout seul ou presque ! Mais Climax signe quand même ici une adaptation "console vers PC" de très bonne qualité. Moto GP2 s'annonce comme la nouvelle référence du genre sur nos machines.

MotoGP 2 gaat gebukt onder een slecht ontworpen controlesysteem. En als de ontwikkelaars ietsje meer gebruik hadden gemaakt van de mogelijkheden van de pc-hardware, dan zouden de mooie graphics er nog mooier uitzien. Met andere woorden, weer zo'n port naar de pc waaraan te weinig aandacht werd besteed. Gelukkig maakt het snelle racegevoel een aantal van deze gebreken ongedaan.

Moto GP 2 is geen absolute topper in het genre maar zal toch menig fan in de ban houden door zijn degelijke gameplay en graphics.

In the end, MotoGP 2 for the PC falls short of its potential. If the developer had spent more time refining the control scheme and graphics to make better use of PC hardware and had added more functionality to the game's menus and multiplayer options, the PC version of MotoGP 2 could have been as good as the Xbox version. To its credit, the game is selling at a budget price, but as it stands, MotoGP 2 for the PC is a simple port that lacks good multiplayer and in-game options, and doesn't re-create the highly functional and rewarding control scheme of the original console game.

Voici enfin le jeu de moto que nous attendions tous. Le premier volet du soft de THQ nous avait déjà surpris par sa qualité de réalisation, mais là les développeurs ont placé la barre très haut. Pas de réelle nouveauté pour ce deuxième opus mais de nettes améliorations (une sorte de mise à jour).
