Myst IV is a game worthy of praise. At a time when adventure games are floundering, Revelation shows flashes of how brilliant they can be, with a great story, imaginative settings, beautiful artwork and sound, and ingenious puzzles. Unfortunately, it's a little too devious for its own good, and it's a little too easy to get lost or confused, sucking some of the life out of what would otherwise be a great experience.
As it stands, Myst IV: Revelation is a game any Myst fan needs to play -- even if you missed Riven and Exile -- if for no reason other than to see how the story of the family turns out. It is, in my opinion, the best Myst game since the original. If you're the least bit interested, find yourself a good walkthrough and enjoy the ride.
