Press Release:

HER INTERACTIVE SHIPS NANCY DREW: THE FINAL SCENE
Company Also Debuts Value-Packed Holiday Bundles at E-tail & Retail Nationwide

BELLEVUE, Wash., November 13, 2001 - Her Interactive, a developer of interactive entertainment for girls and women, today announced the latest game in its Nancy Drew series, Nancy Drew: The Final Scene, has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. Gearing up for the holidays, the company also announced special retail and e-tail game bundles that include a Nancy Drew book, along with an assortment of other game-related goodies.

Taking the role of Nancy Drew in The Final Scene, the player is pitted against the clock in a race to save a friend's life. Nancy is tagging along while her old high school pal Maya does a story on a local historic theater that's slated for demolition soon. The theater contains some Houdini-like secrets but Nancy's curiosity about them is sidetracked when she hears her friend's blood curdling scream and realizes Maya has disappeared.

The police are convinced Maya is outside but Nancy knows she's still in the theater. Players must extract clues and hints from the game's four characters, navigate the many hidden passageways of the theater and solve about 20 puzzles in order to save Maya.

Like all Nancy Drew games from Her Interactive, players can get in-game assistance by phoning Nancy's friends Ned, Bess and George. They can also explore 200 hot spots that give players more clues. If players need more tips, they can visit one of the online chat sessions found at www.herinteractive.com to ask for and share information with other Nancy Drew fans. For those players who are new to the Nancy Drew game, titles in the series feature two levels of difficulty: Junior and Senior Detective.

Nancy Drew: The Final Scene is targeted at players aged 10 and up, carries an ESRB rating of "E" (Everyone) and is published by DreamCatcher. The new PC game is available through retail outlets nationwide, such as Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Best Buy, Electronics Boutique, as well as through Amazon, Scholastic and many other online and catalog outlets.

System requirements for the game include: Windows 95/98/Me/XP; 166 MHz Pentium processor; 16MB RAM; 130 MB available hard disk space; 16-bit color graphics video card; 8x CD-ROM drive; 16-bit Windows-compatible stereo sound card; mouse and speakers.

Her Interactive Web Page:
    Description:
When one of Nancy's high school friends gets kidnapped in an historic theater, our favorite detective is plunged into a desperate race against the clock: with the theater being torn down in just three days, can Nancy outwit the kidnapper and rescue her friend before the wrecking ball flies? Or will this be Maya's final scene?

    The Case:
Nancy travels to St. Louis to visit her old friend Maya and attend the premier of a new blockbuster movie, “Vanishing Destiny,” at the Royal Palladium Theater. The historic theater is scheduled for demolition in just 3 days and Maya is covering the controversial story. But when Maya is kidnapped just before her big interview with the movie’s leading man, Brady Armstrong, Nancy’s night out at the movies turns into a nightmare.

She’s convinced that the kidnapper is hiding Maya in the mysterious theater in a desperate attempt to halt the demolition, but no one believes her!

Nancy must juggle her efforts between searching for her friend, proving to the police that Maya is really in the theater, and finding a way to stop the demolition. It’s not long before Nancy begins to unravel the tangled history of the theater’s ownership, a web of secret deals and betrayals surrounding Harry Houdini, the world’s greatest escape artist. Will this information help Nancy save the day? Can Nancy afford to gamble with time when her friend’s days are numbered? Play the game and find out!

Use your best detective skills to explore this once-grand theater in a frantic quest for clues, secret passageways, hidden rooms--anything that will help you find your friend. Her life depends on it. Tick-tock!
