With great gameplay and dead-on commentary by Reggie Theus and Don Poier, NBA Live 2000 is about as addictive as a game can be. NBA Live 2000 sports a bevy of bullet points, all of which are well implemented, that cements its position at the top of the PC basketball hill.

Year after year, it's difficult to imagine NBA Live getting any better. EA Sports keeps raising the bar in this game with a more realistic look and superior gameplay. Playing this game looks very much like watching the game on television. I've been impressed by other basketball titles, but this one blows them all away. Bottom Line: NBA Live 2000 contains the most realistic looking players I have seen in any game to date. Available options are numerous and provide many types of gameplay. Sound effects are good but commentary could be livelier. Control is solid but no mouse control is available.

Wünsche bleiben keine mehr offen: EA Sports packte in NBA Live 2000 alles, was man sich als Spieler wünschen konnte - erstmals einschließlich der im Ruhestand befindlichen Basketball-Legende Michael Jordan. Traditionsgemäß bildet die neueste Version der Basketball-Simulation von EA Sports den Abschluss des Sportjahres. Diesmal mit einem richtigen Knall, denn NBA Live 2000 rüttelt mächtig am Thron der Sportspielreferenz FIFA 2000. Die Entwickler haben sich erkennbar Mühe gegeben, zum Jahrtausendwechsel alles zu bieten, was sich ein Basketball-Fan wünschen kann.

Basketball ist nicht mein Fall, und die komplexe Button-Belegung schreckte mich zusäzlich ab. Aber jetzt ist auch bei mir der Funke übergesprungen. Meine Stars bewegen und benehmen sich so realistisch, dass ich sie sofort ins Herz geschlossen habe. Der hervorragende Franchise-Modus allein rechtfertigt schon einen Kauf. NBA Live 2000 sieht glänzend aus, spielt sich famos und trumpft mit einer dichten Atmosphäre auf.

Der Spielablauf wirkt bei aller Schönheit manchmal ein wenig arg choreographiert. Einzelne Gegner versuchen in bestimmten Situationen immer wieder die gleichen Manöver. Microsofts NBA Drive wirkt da etwas unberechenbarer und weniger statisch, kann es in Sachen Komplexität, Präsentation und Spieltiefe aber nicht mit dem Altmeister aufnehmen. NBA Live regiert deshalb auch im Jahr 2000 die Basketball-Szene. Nur Besitzer der 99er- Ausgabe überlegen sich die Anschaffung zweimal, denn die Verbesserungen sind nett, aber nicht dramatisch.

EA brengt met de zoveelste telg in de NBA LIVE serie weeral eens een uitstekend product op de markt met al van multiplayermogelijkheden, maar voelt toch de adem van de concurrentie in haar nek blazen, een gevoel dat volledig onbekend moet zijn voor dit softwarehuis. (Gna, gna, gna)

Безусловно, NBA Live 2000 — весьма удачно усовершенствованный вариант NBA Live 99. Игра не без недосмотров, но очень красивая и интересная. Однозначно лучший выбор для любителя виртуального баскетбола как минимум на ближайшие 4-5 месяцев... До выхода еще чего-нибудь с приставкой 2001.

It still might be the best on the PC, but then, the Knicks were the best of the East, the Bulls' conference, and the Spurs of the West beat them handily in the championship that the Bulls used to own.

NBA Live 2000 is nog steeds één van de beste basketbalspelletjes voor pc, maar het revolutionaire is er wel af. Gelukkig maakt nummer 23 heel veel goed.

NBA live 2000 est un jeu de basket de plus dans la série produite par EA Sports. Ce dernier opus n'apporte pas grand chose de nouveau par rapport aux versions précédentes, si ce n'est un éditeur de joueurs personnalisés assez amusant. La maniabilité est bonne et les joueurs de tous niveaux y trouveront leur compte. Malgré cela, on reste un peu sur notre faim avec ce titre car, même si presque tous les grands noms du basket américain depuis les années 50 sont présents, NBA Live 2000 n'est pas à la hauteur d'un NBA 2K sur Dreamcast.
