Description

At the dawn of the 22nd century, the solar system was being controlled by huge corporations. One of these corporations has woken up something big at the edge of the solar system. Chaos ensues and it's dubbed as the "Jupiter Incident". You take the role of Marcus Cromwell who finds himself in the middle of the conflict.

Nexus is a real-time mission-based tactical space game. Think of Ground Control set in space and you get the picture. The developers call it a Tactical Fleet Simulator (TFS) and the first of it's kind. Nexus boasts a powerful Black Sun engine and supports both DX8 and DX9 shaders.

Trivia

Nexus went through a lot of name changes and was nearly cancelled in mid-2003. Originally the game was being developed at Philos Lab under the title Beyond. When CDV decided publish they decided to license the Imperium Galactica name from Infogrames(now Atari) as Infogrames has no plans of making a new Imperium Galactica game. The Imperium Galactica fans were not happy as the gameplay was totally different from the previous games in the series. A small IG3 demo was released to show of Matrox's triple monitor view. The game was supposed to be released in 2002 but it missed the release date.

CDV then retitled IG3 to Galaxy Andromeda, while Philos Lab disbanded. Some of the ex-members of Philos Lab formed Mithis and continued developing Galaxy Andromeda. Then in mid 2003, CDV decided to cancel the game completely as CDV was losing alot of money in the delay. Then in fall 2003, HD Interactive decided to publish the game under the name, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.
