Nitro Family

In the final analysis, “Nitro Family” is cut from the mold of some of the most entertaining games out there. Namely the ones that don’t take themselves oh-so-seriously. Nothing against the Rainbow series, or the incredible Unreal Tournament 2004, but occasionally, you just want some good old-fashioned escapism. When the online elements finally fall into place, this rating will doubtless go up at least a full point. You do the math. It’s the most fun I’ve had without getting naked. I figured I’d leave you with that unpleasant visual.

The producers stated in an interview that "Nitro Family refers to a very explosive family, which nobody can touch". They were right: if you don’t like the FPS genre, you can avoid this title without any regrets. And even if you’ve played every FPS title since Wolfenstein 3D, you won’t miss anything if you decide to play other important titles that have been released this year. But if you like the „gun & run” genre above all else, you can give Nitro Family a try while you patiently wait for the release of Serious Sam 2.

Overall, Nitro Family won’t be the next big FPS title to turn PC gamer’s heads or anything, but despite some of the flaws it was entertaining for a while. If you are looking for a fast paced FPS title at a cool price of $19.99 since you’ve gone through all of your other ones, this one may be worth checking out. If you get burned out on repetitive action and don’t like paying Coop only online, then you may want to skip it and see what the next FPS game coming out will be since you will probably find it to get repetitive and may lose interest after a short time.

Nitro Family ist kein Meisterwerk, aber für zwischendurch immer wieder anspielbar, denn auch wenn das Gameplay etwas monoton ist kann es trotzdem für einen Kurzfristigen Spielspaß. Jeder der also gerne viel Spaß am Spielen hat und dem Story nicht wichtig ist, der sollte mal einen Blick auf das Spiel werfen. Freunde von Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield oder Splinter Cell sollten hingegen die Finger von diesem Spiel lassen.

Avec son petit prix d'à peine trente euros, Nitro Famly se montre à nous sans aucune prétention et fait figure de soft "fait à la maison" par des passionnés qui ont désiré visiblement faire fi de toutes les convenances pour mettre au monde un produit brut. Nerveux et déjanté, ce titre estampillé Nobilis ne parvient toutefois pas vraiment à convaincre. Amusant la première heure, il lassera rapidement les fans de FPS et ne correspondra pas aux attentes des autres. Un jeu défoulant une après-midi si l'on veut se changer les idées, et c'est déjà pas mal.

Nitro Family est un Painkiller du pauvre. Il essaye désespérement d'être cool mais il est technique pourri et vite gonflant. A réserver à ceux qui n'ont pas les moyens d'acheter une bécane assez puissante pour faire tourner les jeux modernes.

Ah, que cela aurait pu être bon d’enfin pouvoir mettre la main sur un soft digne de devenir le successeur du célébrissime Serious Sam ! Que cela aurait pu être bon, enfin, de pouvoir se libérer une nouvelle fois, et dézinguer du monstre à gogo sans avoir à se soucier de ses neurones ! Oui… oui, mais non. Non. Et on en est désespérément déçu. Car, malgré quelques idées novatrices, le jeu n’arrive pas à la cheville de son prédécesseur.
