Operation Flashpoint: Gold Upgrade

Overall Operation Flashpoint takes warfare to a more realistic level than ever before. Never before have I seen a game depict warfare so well. Also the death quotes are excellent as the camera pans around the battlefield over your lifeless body. One last thing is to remember to use your other squad members, as they will save you in the long run. As for the Gold Edition, it adds more weapons and the 20 mission Red Hammer campaign that allows you to play as the Russians which gives a new perspective to the game. The new weapons and vehicles would have been enough. But with the 20 extra missions how could you go wrong?

Red Hammer ist das Herzstück der Operation Flashpoint Gold Editon und alleine die Red Hammer-Kampagne ist schon fast den Kaufpreis wert. Sie steht der amerikanischen Kampagne in nichts nach und fesselt einen ebenso wie das Original zu jeder Zeit an den Monitor. Jeder, der bisher Operation Flashpoint noch nicht sein Eigen nennt, sollte bei der Gold Edition zugreifen. Für alle Flashpoint-Veteranen ist das einzeln erhältliche Add-On ein Muss.

Bei Operation Flashpoint wollte ich schon lange die andere Seite spielen. Mit Red Hammer geht der Wunsch endlich in Erfüllung. Zwar ist in den Reihen der Russen alles wesentlich schwieriger, aber auch unglaublich spannend. So stelle ich mir ein Addon vor: eine umfangreiche Zusatzkampagne, die sich sinnvoll ins Hauptprogramm einfügt und mein Können richtig fordert.

Auch wenn es nichts Neues zu bestaunen gibt: In der Roten Armee fühle ich mich genauso daheim wie bei den Amis.

I was very pleased with this game and all of the goodies that come with it, the add on missions, the strategy guide, the fold up quick ref guide, and the general manner in which all of it is presented is top notch, easy to read, understand, and use. This Gold Edition game will make a great addition to any FPS collection. I would recommend it, I play it on-line and love it. Ovaldog gives OPERATION FLASHPOINT, GOLD EDITION two thumbs up.
