The Outforce

Я рискну сказать, что Outforce — достойное завершение целой галереи игр RTS, более известных как "стенка на стенку". Думаю, его будущее связано только с сетевым существованием (оценка дана в расчете на мультиплеер). Смею вас уверить, более вкусное, спелое, приятное на ощупь и доброе внутри мы вряд ли увидим на просторах клонирования. Все начиналось на Земле и должно закончиться на небесах. Занавес.

Outforce is a 3D Engine Based, Topdown ("Classical" View, Dune, C&C, Dark Reign 1 and many others), Extremely well found and built. The story takes place after the mankind had to leave earth and extend its reaches (for the usual War/Alien/Destruction reasons), And they build their new home on a planet where War between two alien races has been taking place for quite a long time. I found the storyline amazingly Shallow, A Little mystery here and there, but nothing revolutionary, I did however, Find a spectacular game with astounding Sound effects, Graphics, Visual Effects and more.....

Ich gebe zu: Ich bin ganz angetan von Outforce. Es macht Spaß, der eigenen Flotte bei den spektakulären Schlachten zuzusehen. Einige originelle Einfälle erlauben ganz neue Taktiken: Mit einigen Schleppschiffen zog ich kurzerhand einen unbewachten Teil des gegnerischen Schutzwalls weg, um dann durch die Lücke in die Basis einzufallen. Schade nur, dass die Missionen eintönig sind; als Aufgabe müssen Sie in der Regel entweder alle Gegner vernichten oder ein Zielobjekt in Ihre Basis schleppen. Auch die Taktik des Computers läßt zu wünschen übrig. Mehr als Massenangriffe haben die Außerirdischen nicht drauf. Für Einsteiger ist das Spiel einen Tick zu unübersichtlich, schon etwas erfahrenere Echtzeit-Freunde werden den Kauf des schicken Weltraumabenteuers aber sicher nicht bereuen.

The Outforce is a good product, featuring challenging scenarios with solid graphics and sound. It is not going to take the gaming world by storm, but it is going to provide a good ride for those who play it. If the whole goal in gaming is to delight the senses, entreat the mind and provide hours of pleasant game experiences, then The Outforce succeeds.

The Outforce is not a bad game; it's just not enough of a game. With a pitifully short single-player campaign, lack of features, and a general lack of originality, the only things that this game has going for it is pretty graphics and the nifty towing ability that reminded me of Solar Jetman, one of my many soft spots. Those of you who are dying for a 2D RTS set in 'space' may well find this game a worthy purchase -- at 20.00 USD, it's not a major slam on the wallet. But low pricing does not redeem it completely, and The Outforce is, in the end, just another fair-to-middling real-time strategy game.

Even so, The Outforce has its moments. The three different sides are fairly distinctive, the game looks good, and the techno/new-age soundtrack is also very good and appropriate to the setting. And so, even in spite of some of its problems and its overall lack of original ideas, the game itself can be quite fun--the multiplayer battles are particularly enjoyable and fast paced. Furthermore, the game is available for a low suggested retail price of around $20. The Outforce won't wow real-time strategy players, but it's a solid space-based strategy game with good production values.

Wieder einmal ist das eigentlich so friedliche Weltall Schauplatz zerstörerischer Kriege und Schlachten. Kann The Outforce der Geschichte, die schon von StarCraft und Earth 2150 so hervorragend erzählt worden ist, tatsächlich neue Aspekte hinzufügen? Nach einem fatalen intergalaktischen Unfall ist die Erde zerstört. Die wenigen Überlebenden machen sich auf, ihr Glück auf neuen, unbewohnten Planeten zu suchen und mischen sich dabei unbeabsichtigt in den Krieg zweier verfeindeter Alienrassen ein.

Mit zehn Missionen ist die Kampagne nicht gerade lang, aber dafür sind die Aufträge teils ziemlich umfangreich, und es gibt etliche Einzelkarten. Das Spiel selbst wirkt gar nicht übel - solange Sie sich mit dem Massenschlacht-Prinzip anfreunden können. Einige nicht alltägliche Ideen kommen noch dazu wie etwa die Tow-Schiffe. Und Mauern im Weltraum machen zwar in Wirklichkeit wenig Sinn, bilden hier auf der 2D-Spielebene aber doch launige Herausforderungen. Ganz zu schweigen von Teleporterschiffen oder solchen, die durch feste Materialien dringen können. All das geht flott und reibungslos von der Hand (die Uhr darf auch gebremst werden), kann aber nicht wirklich faszinieren - vielleicht deshalb, weil sich die Missionen manchmal allzu sehr ähneln.

If you're looking for a new RTS, you could do worse, but you also could do much better. Get Red Alert 2, Homeworld, or StarCraft. But this game is boring. It moves slow as slow can be and has little to no personality. At $20, some may say it deserves some consideration, but the fact that most battles seem to come down to shoving as many troops down the other player's throat doesn't lend to great battles of strategy. And that sleepy drool can really damage a keyboard.

As a budget title, people usually don't expect much from games like The Outforce. The Outforce lives up to most of those expectations: it's a real time strategy game that's been done better before. However, if you are a fan of the genre, or decide that seeing the cool backgrounds and playing with the tow ships is worth the price, I won't stop you. Now if you'll excuse me, some of my riot guards want to get closer with the enemy.

Un jeu décevant qui part pourtant d'un concept intéressant. Malheureusement sa réalisation n'est pas à la hauteur des ambitions de The OutForce qui s'avère un jeu de STR très classique et surtout très moyen.

This game just does not provide anything new or provide much of a challenge. Perhaps it might be appropriate for someone new to gaming, but most gamers will grow quickly bored by it.
