DescriptionPerspective is an experimental game in which the player must guide a two-dimensional character through a three-dimensional environment. Inside the 3D environment there are blue and orange elements of the architecture. The 2D character is blocked by anything that is blue making it function as walls and floors. Orange elements disintegrate the 2D character when touched.
In 3D the player can move around similar to other first person perspective games. The player can look around in any direction, move about and run. With the flick of a button the player switches control to the 2D character. The 2D character lives in a fixed screen, namely the viewport of the 3D character at the time of switching control. The edges of the screen also become orange and are thus off-limit. The 2D character can move left and right and jump; it has no problems with diagonal ramps. When switching back to the 3D person character the 2D character's position is maintained. To determine its position in the third dimension he's always projected against whichever wall, floor or ceiling is right behind him.
The goal of the game is to navigate a series of rooms with different puzzles. To do so the player must navigate in 3D space to align the blue and orange elements of the architecture in a way that makes sense for the 2D character. Later this is made more difficult with more difficult puzzles involving moving elements are requiring more out-of-the-box thinking.
