PixelJunk Eden

If you haven't played Eden yet and wonder if you should on PC, or wonder if this is worth your time, the answer in both cases is a resounding yes. The Steam version even has an option to buy the soundtrack as well (which I very much suggest). Much like the PlayStation version, Pixeljunk Eden is a game that’s tough to find fault with. It remains one of my favorite games in recent memory.

Finally, the five gardens from the PlayStation Network version's "Encore" expansion are included at no additional cost. If you're anything like me, you won't want Eden to end, so this gesture is greatly appreciated. These levels are as solid as the rest of the game. It's a shame to see a few features -- particularly multiplayer -- get cut from this version of PixelJunk Eden, but the warp ability, new controls, and restructured pacing more than make up for the loss. This Steam edition is a must-download for new and returning players alike.

Come spesso accade per i titoli della serie creata da Q-Games, PixelJunk Eden è in grado di regalare un'esperienza significativa e coinvolgente, una sorta di "trance" che vi proietta in una realtà alternativa mentre saltate da una pianta all'altra, solleticati da musica e colori, acquisendo man man maggiore controllo sull'ambiente inerziale e sulle sue dure regole. La presenza di un buon numero di giardini garantisce un intrattenimento duraturo e un ottimo rapporto qualità / prezzo, considerando anche l'inclusione dell'espansione Encore. Qualche dubbio invece sui controlli, non tanto per la bontà delle scelte fatte dagli sviluppatori, quanto più per la mancanza di alternative. Il debutto di PixelJunk su Steam, ad ogni modo, va salutato con calore ed entusiasmo: se la serie vi ha sempre incuriosito, questa è di certo un'ottima occasione per farne la conoscenza.
