Glide Underground
Great game that's really worth playing. I think it should be the new standard in movie-games. Especially with the DVD drive breaking through, developers shouldn't forget about game-play!

Just Adventure
When all is said and done, it's fair to conclude that Reah is a game expertly constructed for those of us who love puzzles. If the emerging (or not) action/adventure genre is currently your cup of tea, Reah most definitely is not. And if, as in the Gabriel Knight and Tex Murphy series, engaging stories are your thing, you'd be wise to avoid Reah, which is thin on plot/character development and heavy on logic. But if you are the type of gamer who relishes wasting away the hours, scratching your head from time to time, even choosing to lose sleep while trying to solve a particularly mystifying challenge, then you are indeed a puzzle lover.

Je zou kunnen stellen dat de makers van Reah Myst en Riven lekker hebben zitten off-te-rippen maar dat zou het spel geen recht doen. Reah heeft genoeg eigen karakter en bovendien zijn de puzzels vernuftig maar niet absurd moeilijk. Kortom: Reah is hoogstaand, sfeervol, uitdagend en helemaal van deze tijd.

Ogólnie rzecz biorąc REAH jest bardzo udaną przygodówką z piękną grafiką i tajemniczym klimatem (to ostatnie ma w tej grze ogromną wagę), która po raz kolejny potwierdza to, że "Polak potrafi" ;). Co tu dużo mówić - sami sprawdźcie ;))!

While I am generally thrilled with Reah, I harbor no illusions that every member of the gaming public would have that reaction if they purchased it and played it. Whether you want to buy Reah is a function of what kind of adventure gamer you are. If you want a lot of creative user-controlled interaction with live characters, skip this game. If you love action and hate purely intellectual challenges, look somewhere else. If you judge a game by whether it has a great end video tying up all the loose ends, steer clear at all costs. But if you are a genuine puzzle lover like me, and you can appreciate the aesthetic beauty of truly well done graphics and music, than race out and grab this one; I guarantee it will keep you entranced for a long, long time.

Al bij al kan dit nog best een leuk spel zijn, voor mensen die adventures als Atlantis een schijntje vinden, of lezers met gelimiteerde hardware, die toch ook nog eens van een grafische hoogvlieger willen genieten. Voor mij zijn de puzzels net iets te enerverend en onlogisch.

Reah has problems. Because of several distracting difficulties with the preface and audio, and a dearth of plotline, most people will not be drawn into the gameplay. Those who stick it out will be frustrated with some of the puzzles and the technical difficulties they encounter. I cannot in good conscience recommend Reah for any but the most die-hard puzzle gamer.

Reahs største svaghed er, at det ganske enkelt er kedeligt, og man suges aldrig for alvor ind i den historie, der ellers i starten virker meget lovende. Reah er et modigt forsøg på at tilfredsstille publikummet for puzzle-adventures, men kan ikke følge med i konkurrencen.

Schon tausendmal gesehen: Reah greift das betagte Myst-Design auf und käut die altbekannten Rätsel wieder. Die Grafik ist ein bißchen besser als gewohnt, die Bedienung dafür umständlicher, und damit sind die auffälligsten Unterschiede auch schon erschöpft. Immerhin ist Reah technisch sauber programmiert und läßt gelegentlich sogar einen Funken Humor aufblitzen. Wenn die polnischen Entwickler ihr Talent das nächste Mal in einen weniger konventionellen Titel stecken, könnte das Ergebnis sehr interessant werden.

Quandary
This one is certainly a most engrossing game with beautiful graphics and eerie music that make the game world fascinating to explore ... you really won't want to leave some locations. I especially appreciated the watery world with its wooden walkways, fountains, and houses clinging to the surrounding cliffs. The reflections and rippling water make it so tranquil and inviting you just want to move right in. But if that's not your thing then there's also the desert to experience, a metallic space-age location and the initial town which has clear Mogul or Arabic influences.

I really liked this game besides its faults. That does not mean, however that this game would be a good addition to a first time or casual players library. Reah is the type of game that appeals to hard core puzzle fans and would prove very boring and frustrating to casual or first time gamers. Reah tries to appeal to a very broad audience by including characters and inventory gathering but neither is fully fleshed out in the game, and so fail create the hoped for draw. What Reah truly succeeds at is being is a graphically beautiful game with an impressive array of engaging and enticing puzzles.

Reah Der Ort Reah besitzt viele reizvolle Gebäude, die insbesondere für Architekturstudenten interessant sein dürften. Um seine mystische Spährenmusik werden abgehalfterte Komponisten wie Mike Oldfeld oder Jean-Michel Jarre das Programm beneiden. Aber für die (Zitat) "genialen" Rätsel und die "intelligente" Story könnte ich die Verantwortlichen stundenlang abwatschen! Was hier aus den hochklassigen Vorlagen der Grafiker und Musiker gemacht wurde, ist im Grunde eine mittlere Katastrophe.

If you're waiting for that third entry in the Myst series and are willing to overlook Reah's faults in exchange for complex puzzles, this game should tide you over... just. If you're looking for more of a full-bodied experience of a game, look elsewhere.

Die Freundinnen und Freunde schwieriger Klang-Rätsel und geduldstrapazierender Puzzles werden ihre helle Freude daran haben, daß ihre Kombinationsgabe hier so richtig gefordert wird: Symbolreihen wollen ergänzt, Gongs müssen in der richtigen Reihenfolge angeschlagen und Konsolen-Codes sollen ermittelt werden. Dabei ist das Menüfeld übersichtlich, die Steuerung kinderleicht, und man kommt rasch vorwärts. Allerdings auch nur dann, wenn man ein Händchen für das Rumhantieren an Tierschädeln und Gashähnen hat. Wem das alles zu altbacken ist, der bleibe besser in unserer Dimension: Mehr los ist hier allemal.

It seems like a huge game; it comes on 6 disks. And they had to squeeze to make it fit. With the walkthrough it shouldn't take more than a few hours to complete. Without it, it could take a lifetime. Depends on how good you are at puzzles, I guess. While it's a great looking game I wouldn't want to play it for long due to its high puzzle frustration and confusion factors. Even with the walkthrough it was a stretch.

Depending on which camp you belong to, Reah is either a captivating adventure with devilishly difficult puzzles set in a mysterious and beautiful world, or it's an unabashed Myst clone with a tissue-thin story, throwaway characters, and insanely difficult puzzles (for the record, I adhere to the latter opinion - though you've probably already surmised that from the score at the top of this review).

Just Adventure
Now, Reah has all the earmarks of a Game Ray Should Love. It's an unabashed Riven clone--check. It's really, really pretty--check. It's wall-to-wall puzzles--check. It's a first-person game in which you wander through a mysterious, lovely world--check. Even some of its liabilities are not always deal-breakers for me: thin, thin story and a ridiculously weak ending. Heck, that perfectly describes games such as The 7th Guest and The Cassandra Galleries, both games I enjoyed thoroughly.
