Power Unlimited

Whether you are an action or adventure fan, this game is definitely worth checking out. I started playing it not expecting much, and was totally blown away, this game far surpassed everything I thought that it would, I was quickly wrapped up in the story and the action, and in awe of the graphics.

There's plenty to keep you occupied - the game spans three CDs - although purists will be upset to learn that death is a fairly common occurrence in the game, necessitating regular saves - which isn't something that really has any place in an adventure game. But if you can put up with that, it's easy to kill a few hours, and if you really can't be arsed to leave the house, and you're not in the mood for hectic action, Red Jack could provide a viable alternative.

Although Redjack is a very linear game by design, its most redeeming quality is its rich and interesting story line, complimented by its fabulous character interaction. It is similar in gameplay to the X-Files Game, but with a better pace and more things to do, thus keeping your interest longer. If you like a fantasy adventure, good story telling, and swarthy pirates, this game is for you. If you disagree with me, I'll tie ye to the yardarm and give ye ten lashes with the cat o' nine tails.

IGN
Red Jack is solid, not brilliant, but adventure game fans will enjoy it for the adventure game experience, the rush of solving a cleverly-devised puzzle, or the satisfaction of finding that one lost item. It is a rich and exciting adventure on the high seas.

Quandary
RedJack: Revenge of the Brethren is very much a light-hearted action/adventure game. The action sequences are fairly easy to master with a little practice and the adventuring problems, with the exception of one logic puzzle, provide almost no challenge at all. Yet I must admit, as an adventurer who can tolerate a little action, I found it to be quite an entertaining diversion and much better than I anticipated. Needless to say, it perhaps won't appeal to hard-core action fans nor to adventurers who dislike action.

Computer Games Magazine
For seasoned adventurers, the game is way too short-probably less than 15 hours of gameplay, but the one thing that has to be said for this product is that it is a perfect introduction to the genre for newcomers. Newcomers won't really know how bad the combat is, they will be able to figure out the puzzles, and the rest of the elements will please just about anybody. All pirate fans will want to play this one anyway, and if you're new to gaming, or to adventure games, here's a chance to get your feet wet.

GameSpot
Cyberflix's Redjack: Revenge of the Brethren is the latest game to utilize a pirate storyline, but it is far from the greatest. In the past, Cyberflix has made interesting and original adventure games (Dust, Titanic: Adventure Out of Time) and dreadful action games (Skullcracker, Jump Raven). Redjack makes an attempt to blend these two genres, and it should be no surprise that the final result is a somewhat schizophrenic blend of good adventure and terrible action.

Just Adventure
To poorly steal a line from Charles Dickens, "it is the best of games, it is the worst of games." Redjack is a hybrid three-CD action/adventure game with many admirable qualities that would lead me to recommend it without hesitation were it not for an almost equal amount of annoyances. It was fun being a pirate for a while, and the puzzles were never so difficult (except for the lava puzzle) that I could not advance in the game. The cut scenes were so nice that they always left me wanting more. Yet there is an overall average quality about the game that prevents it from standing out from the crowd.

Adventure Gamers
Redjack: Revenge of the Brethren, while passing itself off as a light-hearted yarn about pirates, sunken treasures, and other adventures on the high sea, is in reality a tale of tragedy in that here we have yet another promising idea for an adventure game which ultimately falls prey to a poor implementation…
