Roberta Williams' King's Quest VII: The Princeless Bride

While King's Quest VII is a great game, I still liked part VI better. Sure the graphics are better in VII, but I felt the story line and characters were better done in the previous game. Part VI also had a more conservative and dark look to it when compared to the cartoonish King's Quest VII. Still, whether you are an experienced King's Quest fan, or a newcomer, get ready for one of the best adventures to come along since...well, King's Quest VI! This game is highly recommended and really should not be missed.

King's Quest VII: The Princeless Bride on monella tavalla aivan uudenlainen Sierran seikkailupeli. Sierra on remontoinut pelisysteeminsä täysin. King's Quest VII käyttää uudenlaista pelirunkoa ja monet toivotut parannukset ovat viimein nähneet päivänvalon. Sierra on onnistunut luomaan tavattoman hyvän pelin. Suloinen piirrosfilmityyli, överiksi heitetty naisellisuus, kohtuullinen vaikeustaso, hyvä pelisysteemi ja kaikin puolin viimeistelty toteutus puhuvat puolestaan. KQ 7 on viimeinkin SE peli, jonka takia kannattaa painua rautakauppaan ja ostaa itselleen romppuasema ja vaikkapa pari megaa lisää muistia. Minä pidin pelistä tavattomasti ja uskallan suositella sitä melkein varauksetta kelle tahansa.

Jag förstår att Windows kommer att bli framtidens spelplattform, men i det här fallet längtar jag tillbaka till gamla hederliga DOS. Windows har ju den egenheten att göra även den värsta hulkdator till att röra sig som sirap.

Sierra On-Line’s King’s Quest VII: The Princeless Bride is, in my mind anyway, the final game in the best-selling series. The series deviates to hack-and-slash 3-D in the eighth installment (Mask of Eternity), and while it leans perhaps a little too far in the other direction in King’s Quest VII—which plays like an extended Disney cartoon—it at least maintains the sense of innocence that is the series’ hallmark.

The latest incarnation in the King’s Quest series continues with the adventures of Princess Rosella and Queen Valanice in the magical realm of Eldritch. In King’s Quest VII: The Princeless Bride, the central story involves the marital status, or rather lack of, of Princess Rosella. Designed by the venerable game designer Roberta Williams as well as Lorelei Shannon, the latest King’s Quest tells the story of a classic fairy tale of love and justice. Featuring animation that rivals that of Disney, the game’s simplistic interface sports a new level of intuitive gameplay.
