Description

The third part of the Runaway saga starts with a sudden twist - Brian Basco has lost his memory, is accused of murder, has considered insane and put into an asylum. Some mysterious circumstances there result in the point at which Gina attends Brian's funeral. And the game begins at his very own grave where for the first time in the series we control Gina.

While progressing through the game, its chapters interweave solving the problems and mysteries in the present with flashbacks which uncover what exactly has happened after the ending of Runaway 2 and later led to the situation at hand.

The game has also kept its gameplay style with complex inventory puzzles requiring combining of various items, optional (often only for the sake of humour) actions and responses for them. Also it features some fast location travelling, handy hint system and hotspots highlighting.

The Nintendo DS version has a redesigned interface. Pressing the stylus against the screen will highlight all objects that can be interacted with. In other situations, such as examining objects, the stylus is used in the same way as the mouse. A minor portion of the spoken dialogue is sacrificed.

Trivia

Competition

Crimson Cow's initial release contained 300 copies of the game with a different cover, which were distributed randomly to the stores. This so called 'Gina Forever' Edition featured Brian's "Gina Forever" tattoo art on the front cover, which can be seen on the inside cover of the regular version too.

The lucky ones who were able fetch such a copy, could participate in a lottery. The winner's price was shopping weekend New York City for two persons including a budget of 250 USD. All participants had to send in the sales slip and their copy of the manual as proof. Both would be send back, the manual with autograph signatures by Péndulo Studios.
