Scooby-Doo: Case File #1: The Glowing Bug Man

This is an excellent game for little kids to play with and work on their critical thinking skills. Scooby Doo puts the child in several situations where logic and pattern matching are needed to get the next clue, as well as reinforcing that knowledge by having the child go through several levels of similar puzzles, each more difficult than the previous. These are puzzles that do a great job of challenging the game's intended audience of children between the ages of 5 to 10.

While the activities as a whole are engaging and offer a good mix of critical thinking and arcade aspects, a few of them aren't that much fun. Plus, the spirit of exploration and excitement found in the previous games is lacking here.

Recommended for ages 5 – 10 you can probably bump the recommended age up a few years as the Scooby games, due to their high recognition factor, are immediately approachable as even my teenage boys stopped by to check out the graphics and gameplay. Don’t let the educational factor scare your children away as the recognizable personalities of the characters and their inherent humor help to maintain a lightness that never lets the game become too frustrating for the younger crowd.
