Description

Sesame Seeds is a fast, procedurally generated action game where players need to uncover words to move on to new levels. At the start of the game, players enter a seed name used to generate the levels. Then, while playing, the player controls a white swarm of nano-fiends with the mouse that can be used to wipe black markings in the background, uncovering a word. The white swarm is chased by a black one that can pick off parts when colliding. As soon as the word is visible, players need to press space to halt the action and quickly enter the word. The tables turn and the player then needs to take out the black swarm. All of this needs to be done in a very short time frame. When done correctly and in a timely fashion, a new level is generated. In later levels, the background also contains decoy passwords to delude the player, but these can be recognized because of the intentional misspellings.

Trivia

The title fits this game well. It references the seeds typical of procedural generation, a technique used in the development of this game, and sesame refers to the saying "Open Sesame" (from the Ali Baba adventure tale), because players need to discover a password and type it to reach the new level. Also, the title sounds much like Sesame Street.
