Silver

When i played Silver years ago, everything was normal. But now that i'm playing it again, every screen with an animated element in the background gets screwed up: horizontal lines across the screen, half-transparent copies of all animated elements {torches, non-interactive people, lightnings, fountains et c} all over the screen... it pretty much ruins it. Anyone knows how it can be fixed? My current video card is much more advanced than the old, so i can't imagine it can't handle something the old one did.
