If you already own The Sims, don’t bother with Deluxe because much of the added content, including several different apps for creating custom sims, is available online for free. But if you haven’t yet experienced the Sims phenomenon, the new Deluxe package is a great way to get your feet wet. Guiding your sims through their lives can be a very challenging and rewarding experience. It’s also just plain fun.

The bottom line is that if you're buying The Sims for the first time, whether for yourself or for someone else, you should definitely choose The Sims Deluxe. But if you already have the original game and all or most of the expansion packs, you don't really need to pick up The Sims Deluxe, unless you're one of those people who absolutely must have every Sims release and Maxis product released, or you really, really want the Sci-Fi and Roman themes, and the Sims Creator. Please note that the scores I'm giving The Sims Deluxe are for the most part carrying given to the original game, since this is in fact a replacement for that game and not really something new.

Maybe you haven’t gotten hooked on the Sims yet. The Sims Deluxe Edition is a perfect introduction to the game. It’s a great value to get not only the original title, but also the first expansion pack and the new Sims Creator for the listed price. If you already own the game (and so many of you do) then it’s really up to you to decide if the new items, clothing and Sims Creator are worth plunking down more money for. But if you absolutely must have every possible piece of Sims gaming software out there then by all means run out to get it. Just remember to speak the native language, not simlish when you ask the local store clerk for it.

If you haven't experienced The Sims before, now's your chance. This bundle will provide you with plenty of gameplay and introduce you to the enjoyable addiction that The Sims can be. It is also compatible with all of the expansion packs available for The Sims, so you'll be able to expand your options with House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, and Unleashed. If you already own The Sims, then this expansion is of questionable worth to you, especially if you already own Livin' Large. You'll have to decide for yourself how important The Sims Creator would be to you.
