Sphere Racer is a single player game in which the player gets to race a ball around a short track.

There are twenty eight tracks in all spread across five worlds; Metal World, Ice World, Green World, Alien World and Desert World. Three tracks are bonus tracks, these like the last two worlds are locked and are only accessible as the player progresses through the game. Throughout the races there are power ups that can be collected.

There are four levels of difficulty and two modes of play, the Quick Race in which the player may select any of the tracks on Metal World, Ice World and Green World, and the Championship in which tracks are played in order.

The game is played entirely via the keyboard and the action keys can be altered to suit the player. The game comes with ten music tracks that are played during the game but allows the player to add their own .mp3 or .ogg files.

Sphere Racer Windows Part way through a race in Metal World. Lots of information on the screen and it still manages to look uncluttered
Sphere Racer Windows Some power ups, like low gravity, affect every player. Low gravity makes it harder to stay on the course in the bends.
Sphere Racer Windows The game has an animated introduction which includes this title screen and which, unless interrupted, goes on to display the game's credits.
Sphere Racer Windows A bit of product placement here. The pictures around the track are for other Idigicon games.
