Spore: Galactic Adventures is one of the most unique and innovative games I have gotten to play. The amount of customization is unbelievable. The adventures that players can embark upon are fun to play and chocked full of humor. I can only wait with deep anticipation and my imagination as to what the next expansion pack will contain.
At last Maxis has tapped the right vein and found pure gold and how long it lasts depends on how much people can tap their imaginations.
Will Wright created a monster -- and he gave it to you to develop. And now he's batting your creative genius in the head. It'll either wake up, or it won't... but whether or not you actually experience all that Galactic Adventures has to offer, you're in for a whole lot of fun along the way.
The community is still going strong, and judging from the number of comments we received on uploaded adventures, players are eager to try out as many adventures as they can. If you're one of them, Spore Galactic Adventures is a must-play, some obvious issues notwithstanding. It's as charming as you would want from a Spore expansion, but more importantly, it offers something truly new, rather than more of what came before.
With the addition of Galactic Adventures the space stage feels much more complete; it was already the largest section of the game, but now it has more variety and stuff to do. At the same time, Galactic Adventures doesn't really boost Spore's other stages, and that's where there's definitely room for improvement. The Civilization stage still feels relatively cut-and-dry, and the Tribal stage resembles a rudimentary real-time strategy game. Still, Galactic Adventures does what it sets out to do in allowing for the creation and sharing of imaginative adventures. In that regards, it's a welcome addition to Spore.
Intrepid creators will take to Galactic Adventures' expanded feature set as both a challenge and a chance to flex their creative muscle, just as LittleBigPlanet has become the PS3's shining example of a community's ability to create interesting content. And for all its ease of use, it's natural that an add-on to Spore requires dedication to create a satisfying level. It's far from perfect, but for players who want to get more out of the Spore universe, Galactic Adventures is a worthy addition.

In the end, it’s important to keep in mind that Spore: Galactic Adventures is a solid expansion of the space stage. You won’t find a deep adventure game here, just a lot of small quests and a solid level editor to add to the strange mix of genres that is Spore.
Spore: Galactic Adventures has unlimited potential. In many ways, it’s difficult to write a conclusive review because it’s not a finished product. Like the creatures that players create, the game itself will evolve. As users become increasingly familiar with the inherent flaws of the Maxis-created missions and begin to design their own that circumnavigate these issues, the ever-expanding Spore universe will shine and the community will prosper.
For creative types looking to craft new adventures and share them with fellow players, Galactic Adventures is a must play. Action fans, on the other hand, that feel burned over Spore's simplistic approach to ground-based combat (sadly, all combat must take place on a planet), should skip it unless they want to run through the 16 included missions. Of course, Spore: Galactic Adventures' best days may come later as players refine and hone their own tales.

If this rational extension had been in Spore from launch, it may well have retained the lasting appeal that it obviously lacked. As it was, despite Will Wright's high concept glitz and glamour, the ultimate product was compromised. I've not seen anyone playing Spore on my Steam friends list since two weeks after launch and, with the Sims 3 in the wings, it's hard to be sure this will lure them back. Not until the World of Cocks videos start hitting Youtube, anyway.

But the game’s vision of boundless creativity is overshadowed by the hollowness of the Spore universe. Once the veneer of cuteness wears off, the game’s lack of heart shows through. The provided missions are a series of point-A-to-point-B chores. Free, downloadable quests created by the Robot Chicken writing staff sound like a great idea on paper, but in practice, the listless results show that even professional writers struggle to make Galactic Adventures sing.
