SPRACE Game
Description
SPRACE Game is an educational game to teach quantum physics to high schools students. It was developed as part of the Brazilian government initiative for "Dissemination and Popularization of Science and Technology" and sponsored by SPRACE (Sao Paulo Regional Analysis Center), a scientific group in Brazil that works at international Particle Accelerators Fermilab and CERN.
As pilot of a miniaturized ship, the player's first mission is to capture subatomic particles using a sophisticated "energy field", then bring them back to a mini-lab in order to analyze and identify them. In the following missions, players will gradually learn and experiment physics concepts such as hadron composition, particle decay, and quantum chromodynamics. In the final mission, they should apply this knowledge to recombine quarks to build new protons and neutrons, and use them to produce atoms required to support life on Mars for a future colonization effort.
