Het is wel jammer dat het geheel er soms wat gedateerd uitziet. Niet dat ik me eraan geërgerd heb, maar we zijn ondertuseen toch al iets beter gewoon. Wat mij betreft heeft men dit ruimschoots goed gemaakt met de sfeer. ST:GENS blijft echter een zeer goed spel. Als je een stevige computer bezit, zet dan koers naar het Microprose systeem met warp factor 9!

Star Trek: Generations überzeugt durch einen vorbildlichen Spannungsaufbau und liebevoll designte Missionen. Der ständige Wettlauf gegen die Zeit treibt einen teilweise wirklich den Schweiß auf die Stirn und sorgt für eine beklemmende Atmospähre.

Wäre die Technik nicht dermassen erschreckend veraltet und wurden die Gegner etwas weniger hirnlos herumzappeln, musste sich sogar mein Liebling "Final Unity" warm anziehen.

While the 'Star Trek: Generations' movie wasn't exactly a huge success, MicroProse's Star Trek: Generations game is entirely different. Like A Final Unity, Generations is another extension of the NG universe, but now the strange new worlds and civilizations can be explored in atmospheric, Doom-like 3D; you can take control of Riker, Worf and even Kirk, beaming aboard disabled warships, exploring deserted alien cities and infiltrating Klingon strongholds.

All in all, Star Trek Generations is a decent game, especially for Trek fans. The game allows you the chance to take the role of all the main cast members (though only one at a time and you can't choose away team members) and is involvingly interesting science fiction fare. The mix of action and adventure works well overall, though it is, without a doubt, aimed more at action players than adventure gamers.

For all you Trekkies out there, I'd consider throwing down some money for this game. I think it was a fairly good adventure for Star Trek fans, and I must also comment that while the game had a very close tie to the movie's plot, it didn't stick to the movie so closely that if you've seen it, you've played it. Generations does have plenty of original subplots that are unseen in the movie. However, I have a feeling that a less dedicated Trek fan, wouldn't be as enthusiastic about it. This game is definitely not the game to buy if you've never been interested in Star Trek, or have no familiarization with Star Trek at all.

Star Trek: Generations on ehdottomasti surkein tähän asti julkaistu Star Trek -peli. Peli on tehty niin amatöörimäisesti, että ei voi kuin ihmetellä. Trek-peleissä on aina ollut pieni rahastuksen maku, mutta tästä yksilöstä se suorastaan löyhkää jo kauas. Pysy kaukana tästä hirvityksestä.

A bad game based on a bad movie, Generations is a miss. Visually and audibly lackluster, this game fails to turn heads. Compounded with poor technology and mediocre design in the away missions, Generations passes boredom to become tedious. Apparently, the wells of creativity for the Microprose Star Trek license went dry after "A Final Unity," leaving gamers with a "Bored Trek."

Ich fand den fünften Film im Kino witzig, die PC-Umsetzung lausig. Star Trek - Generations setzt noch eins drauf: Es zeigt, wie man aus einer schlechten Filmvorlage ein noch schlechteres Spiel machen kann. Vor dem totalen Absturz retten nur die Videosequenzen, die Originalsprecher und -geräusche. Da hat mir selbst Star Trek - Borg um Längen mehr Laune gemacht
