In conclusion, Star Wars: Battle for Naboo is one of the most enjoyable arcade/action games out there and LucasArts and Factor 5 have a lot to be proud of. They took a great game like Rogue Squadron and improved it. Maybe for their next version, they will have added multi-player options and the 3D radar. These things will only add to the replay ability of Star Wars: Battle for Naboo!

Is Battle for Naboo an original title? Heck no. Is it a complex title? Certainly not. But is it loads of fun? You bet. If you're looking for realistic space combat, search elsewhere. However if you're looking for a fun and fast-paced game based in the Star Wars universe, look no further.

This is not the kick ass in your face Star Wars title we’ve been waiting for from LucasArts. Remember the good old days? Remember how good Jedi Knight was? Remember how engrossing the story arc for Tie Fighter was? Unfortunately I’ve heard Obi Wan Dark Forces 3 has been canceled. Let us hope that Battle for Naboo is just to hold us over until the mother of all SW games is released. For the time being, we will just have to wait for Max Payne.

The point is, however, Battle for Naboo is a focused single-player experience, and should be thought of as that. If you liked Rogue Squadron you'll definitely enjoy Battle for Naboo. Outside of that there's little titles that compete with this genre on the PC right now, so it's recommended you pick this title up if you're interested in a little arcade space fighter action. It's not the deepest game in the genre, but it's still a lot of fun in short bursts.

Game Over Online
When the Trade Federation has been thwarted and the celebration in Theed begins, Battle for Naboo fails to elude the recent Star Wars curse. While it offers a nice array of vehicles and mission locales, and a handful of intense battle sequences, the bright spots are few and far between. The clunky controls, limited radar system, lacklustre presentation and repetitive gameplay all contribute to a game that would have been better off staying on the N64. The future looks bright for the Star Wars franchise, now that LucasArts has teamed up with the likes of Ensemble Studios, BioWare and Verant Interactive, but the present, at least for PC gamers, remains cloudy.

But even with its shortcomings, Battle for Naboo is pretty fun. Maybe it's the whole ambience set by the slick graphics and powerful sound, but for having so many complaints, I keep going back for more. So if the Alliance is lagging on sending you that acceptance letter, and your droid is getting a little antsy, this may tide you over for a while.

Finally, I guess it's up to you to decide whether or not you should spend any money on a game that can be completed in a few hours time. You will have fun, I guess, but it simply won't leave enough of a lasting appeal for you to play it again, or for that matter to recommended to someone else.

This game is a direct sequel to Rogue Squadron. I'll go so far as to say that this game for the Star Wars prequel follows in the same line -- it seems that the developers at LucasArts stepped back in time while technology stepped forward. Nothing original, same old same old. Sorry, George, can't say I'm impressed. If you are a diehard Star Wars fan -- if you bought every Episode 1 toy and game AND enjoyed them all -- this is your game. If you loved Rogue Squadron and still play it on a regular basis, this game is for you. For everyone else, I guess we can wait for the next episode in the Star Wars saga -- and the next LucasArts flight combat game.

I think developers still think that a movie license makes a good game so I'll say this : Reality check ! Games based on movies tend to suck, so if you still want to create a license-based game, then better make sure you put ALOT of effort in it and DON'T release a game that looks like it's made in the first half of 1990 !
