Recenzowany tytuł na pierwszy (a nawet drugi i trzeci :-)) rzut oka sprawia wrażenie kolejnej wtórnej konsolówki, która poza rozwalaniem bandziorów nie może przeciętnego gracza niczym ciekawym zaskoczyć. Po kilku godzinach testowania okazało się, iż zabawa solidnie wciąga. Z pewnością nie jest to tytuł słaby, trzeba tylko odpowiednio się do niego nastawić. Ci, którzy oczekują ciekawych zagadek kryminalnych czy głębokich podtekstów nie mają co nawet po niego sięgać. Liczą się tu przede wszystkim sprawne paluszki. Jeśli ktoś został nimi hojnie obdarzony przez naturę (bez żadnych skojarzeń proszę :-)) to śmiało może spróbować.

Die Fernsehserie Starsky & Hutch gehört wohl zu den besseren der in den 70er-Jahren so beliebten "Cop-Shows" - ein Grund, sie ähnlich wie Drei Engel für Charlie als Kinofilm neu aufzulegen. Schon ein Jahr vor dem geplanten Starttermin kommt das Spiel zur Serie in den Handel, das sich auf den populärsten Teil des TV-Vorbilds konzentriert: die Verfolgungsjagden. Sie übernehmen darin Starskys Rolle und klemmen sich hinters Steuer des feuerrot-weißen Ford Torino.

Niet enkel voor fans van de serie is dit een leuke, zij het simpele arcade shooter/driver met de nodige dosis actie en humor.

Ich muss gestehen, dass ich die Fernsehserie gehasst habe. Paul Michael Glaser sah mir damals einfach zu sehr nach Paul Breitner aus. Das Spiel gefällt mir da schon besser. Vor allem die vielen versteckten Extras kaschieren das an sich eintönige Gameplay und sorgen für Motivation. Starsky & Hutch ist kein Meisterwerk, wer Crazy Taxi oder Interstate 76 mochte, kann aber zugreifen.

Cóż jednak z tego wszystkiego, skoro gra nie bawi tak, jak by się tego chciało. Zlecenia, jedno po drugim, są bliźniaczo do siebie podobne i szybko wywołują u gracza uczucie znużenia. Starsky i Hutch jedynie jeżdżą po mieście, demolując to i owo oraz strzelając do uciekających bandziorów. Kolejne sezony serialu, które gracz kręci poprzez wcielenie się w skórę głównych bohaterów gry są również zbliżone fabułą i ogólnym wydźwiękiem. Niestety podkreśla to tylko monotonię rozgrywki i „odmóżdża” grę do maksimum. Wskutek tego dobrze zapowiadająca się na początku gra, staje się po kilkudziesięciu minutach jednorodną papką na wytrzymanie, z którą rzadko kto ma szanse.

With television in the 1970s rife with cop shows of varying quality, you needed some sort of hook in order to stand out. Starsky & Hutch had one of the best--a 1974 Ford Gran Torino with a memorable red and white paint job. Though the show didn't rely as heavily on its trademark car as, say, The Dukes of Hazzard, it was still a fundamental part of the show. Now Gotham Games has released a driving-and-shooting game that evokes the general style of the show. The gameplay isn't terribly deep, and the story mode isn't very long, but the game is still mildly enjoyable. What Starsky & Hutch does best is pay homage to the wonderful clichés of 1970s cop shows.

Mit abenteuerlichen Stunts erspringen Sie nebenbei stärkere Waffen und Bonus-Symbole, die das ständig drängende Zeitlimit lockern. Gezielte Schüsse lösen Skript-Ereignisse aus und schieben etwa einen Lastwagen vor flüchtende Bösewichte. Nur selten stehen Eskorten auf dem Dienstplan, die sich jedoch kaum von den Standard-Missionen unterscheiden. Auf Dauer wird die Kurverei deshalb recht eintönig. Das Geschehen kommentieren die Helden mit einigen wenigen coolen Sprüchen. Dafür passt die funkige Musik hervorragend zum 70er-Stil.

Belle déception pour ceux qui pensaient retrouver leur jeunesse, ils ne trouveront là qu'un jeu à licence sans grand intérêt, au gameplay ultra lassant et qui ne retranscrit qu'à peine l'ambiance d'origine. Note : le jeu refusant d'être pris en photos en l'absence de son attaché de presse, les screenshots qui ornent cette page proviennent de l'éditeur.

Starsky and Hutch is an average driving-shooting game at best. It's got a little hook, the TV ratings concept, which works well and gives the game some lift. The two-player option is the game's biggest draw. But after two or three missions, you'll find the range of missions is incredibly small, the gameplay is overly simplistic, and the style of graphics and dialog to be more of an annoyance than a cult bonus. It should have been a coin-op game. I suggest you find those old Starsky and Hutch TV episodes and watch them again to jog your memory, cause although they might have been cool back in the day, they haven't aged well. This game is clearly dedicated to the most diehard Starsky and Hutch fans on the planet, and only to them. Rent it if you must, but you'd be better off playing World's Scariest Police Chases, it's about as good.
