Sterling's Gift

Het spel is verschikkelijk kort, de puzzels die er zijn, zijn goed uitgewerkt, maar meer is er niet. Verder laat het spel op het gebied van gameplay en graphics ook het nodige te wensen over. Maar ik heb genoten tijdens het spelen van dit spel. De mooie foto's van het landhuis, de heerlijke muziek en het interessante verhaal houden het spel interessant en leuk om te spelen. Ik heb me gewoon heerlijk vermaakt en voelde me regelmatig gewoon een toerist. Vandaar een 7.

All in all the game is nicely done, for an independent effort. It is a little short, but it isn't expensive either. I would recommend it to anyone who likes historical fiction.

Though this game is quite short (perhaps six hours), White Rabbit Productions did a great job of intertwining their story with historical facts. It was a gentle, serene, and mystical journey. At the end, I felt as though I had sauntered through a slice of times past and peeked into the soul of some famous, and not so famous, Americans.

Overall, I liked Sterling's Gift for its exploration and the history, which is a good mix for an adventure game, but I was disappointed that there is so little gameplay involved. With not much to do, it isn't an overly long game, taking about five hours to play, and the potential was there for so much more. There are a few small glitches, but most are fixed by a patch which you can download from the official website where you purchase the game. Ultimately, the lack of depth and challenge means that the game won't be for everyone, but with the right expectations going in, the experience can be quite enjoyable for an evening or two. As a first effort from White Rabbit, Sterling's Gift is a simple but solid offering, and I hope the developers are willing and able to build on the promise they've shown here with more games in future.
