DescriptionSYNSO: Squid Harder! is the sequel to Squid Yes! Not So Octopus!. Just like the original game it is an arena shooter where the player controls a radioactive squid that needs to survive an alien invasion. The character can be moved in any direction and needs to shoot aliens that spawn in waves. Next to the visual improvements the game turns the original concept into four different worlds — available right away — where the squid needs to survive one, two, three or four minutes respectively. The scoring system is redesigned not to award points based on the minutes survived, but solely on killing aliens. More points are provided the sooner they are taken out. The squid only has a single life.
While the original game was a single-screen shooter, the areas in this version has been made slightly larger to incorporate a small amount of scrolling when approaching the edges. Options include different effects, motion blur and turning modes, backgrounds and closed captions that can be toggled, autofire and a practice mode with invulnerability.
