Trivia
Like Theme Park, if a player cheats the game makes a point on telling everyone that, but instead of just displaying a pop-up box, you can hear the announcer saying "Warning: a cheat is running the hospital" and "Hospital administrator is cheating", among others.

According to project leader Mark Webley, originally the game was going to use real ailments and diseases. However it was pointed out that this would mean dealing with a serious subject, with the potential to offend someone, so the design switched to include the "fantasy" diseases.

Bored listening the midi tunes of Theme Hospital's jukebox? You can play your own midi
files by using hospmidi.exe in your installed Hospital directory under
sound\midi\--Look for more information in readme file in the same directory...

Have you ever noticed some of the characters from Bullfrog's another game, Dungeon Keeper,
in the opening intro of Theme Hospital? If you haven't, look more careful to the
very beginning of the intro where someone you know very well is sitting (and looking
very upset) in a bench while a nurse is coming towards him (Don't forget to look at
the screen where our "hero" doctor is playing his "favourite" video game!). Or you can
take a look at here, the screenshots section of Theme Hospital :)
