Time Stand Still is a solid effort in a series that improves with each game. There are some small navigation problems and the ending seems a bit rushed, but these are small nuisances easily overlooked in an independent title. It would behoove some savvy publisher to bundle all four games together and sell them as the Carol Reed Quadrant. At $20 retail, the price would be attractive to both skeptic and the hardcore adventurer and could open up some avenues for other independent developers. But there I go, having those crazy thoughts again.

There is no combat, and you cannot die. That would be counterproductive to this peaceful respite. If you want never-ending action and excitement, this game is not going to be your favorite. Think of it more as a sojourn in the dreamscape, a chance to view some magnificent scenery while solving a mystery second most. There’s an interesting plot here, but it is more like something you would encounter in your dreams, a bit disjointed and requiring some leaps of imagination to round out. If you rush through the game to solve the underlying mystery, it is rather short. Instead, it is an opportunity to savor a moment and reflect on the plea: “Time Stand Still!

As plucky young sleuths go, it’s nice to see that fellow crime fighter Nancy Drew doesn’t have a total monopoly on part-time police work. Bearing this in mind, we highly recommend digging deeper into the facts surrounding said case, with a readily available demo making a great place to start your investigation.
Adventure Island (Dec 03, 2006)

With its combination of static graphics, scarcity of puzzles, and amount of time spent walking around to find clues, time literally does "stand" still in this game.
Quandary (Nov, 2006)
To sum it all up, Time Stand Still, is an enjoyable little game. It isn't too long, and it isn't too difficult, but my time spent in Norrkoping was very pleasant indeed. There are some entertaining puzzles with an interesting snippet of history to go along with them. I got introduced to Carl Bergsten and I've since done an internet search and learned more about him.
Adventure Gamers (Dec 05, 2006)
Overall, Time Stand Still has a lot of good things going for it. I appreciated the substantial amount of gameplay, most of which is essential to developing the storyline rather than simply providing a series of make-work projects. The game does end rather abruptly, which comes as a disappointment, and there are some story strands that are left unresolved. And while I enjoyed the graphics, which were bright, lovely, and worked well for the game, the soundtrack could easily be dumped in favour of ambient sounds, which would go a lot further to creating atmosphere.
