Titan Quest

Titan Quest vermittelt das gleiche Spielgefühl wie Diablo 2. Wenn Sie Blizzards Action-Rollenspiel mochten, können Sie hier aufhören zu lesen und Titan Quest bedenkenlos kaufen - zumal es viele Dinge besser macht, beispielsweise stapelbare Tränke, ein größeres Inventar und schlauere Gegner. Und die immer gleiche Spielwelt stört mich nicht im Geringsten: Mit völlig anders entwickelten Charakteren durch die Antike zu ziehen, ist für mich Motivation genug für erneute Abenteuer. Die Antike Welt beschert mir mit meinen Grundkenntnissen der Mythologie viel Freude. Die Entwickler haben gewissenhaft recherchiert und das überlieferte Wissen hübsch in das Spiel eingebaut, etwa bei den Relikten.

Quel jeu mes amis, quel jeu ! Titan Quest s'impose comme étant la seule alternative valable au grand Diablo 2. Grâce à sa réalisation soignée, à son gameplay parfaitement réglé et à son énorme durée de vie, il risque bien de vous faire passer des dizaines d'heures scotché devant votre PC. Excellent.

Despite its few minor flaws, Titan Quest delivers a ton of extremely fun content for the RPG aficionado. The story is engaging, the graphics are beautiful, and the monsters are plentiful.

Il y a dix ans, Blizzard lançait Diablo, un jeu qui créa un concept à lui tout seul : le Hack’n Slash. Son succès immense, suivi par la sortie de Diablo II quatre ans plus tard, marqua au fer rouge toute une génération de joueurs. Depuis, beaucoup ont d’abord tenté de copier le maître, voire même d’apporter un souffle nouveau à ce genre orienté action/aventure, comme par exemple Sacred. Mais aucun ne parvint à le détrôner, si bien qu’aujourd’hui encore, les serveurs de jeu en ligne de Diablo II sont toujours richement fréquentés.

I like surprises. Do you like surprises? Yeah, me, I like surprises. Not bad surprises, like opening a bill and discovering that you actually owe over a thousand dollars on your phone because your roommate has questionable taste in 1-800 numbers. No, I can do without those particular surprises. What I love is the “I just found 20 bucks” type of surprise, or in this case the “I didn’t even know this game was in development and it’s ruling my world” sort of surprise. The topic of today’s review is exactly that; a game I didn’t see coming at all and it’s so good I’ve been able to do little more than slavishly click my mouse into oblivion. Created by one of the Age of Empires crew, written by the guy who wrote Braveheart, developed by a team called Iron Lore; Titan Quest is the best of the best of the Diablo 2 clones. I suppose I should explain why, yes?

Overall, Titan Quest is a surprisingly good game. If you like the Diablo series or Sacred and are looking for something 2006-similar, you simply can't go wrong. Don't beat it up for being like Diablo- embrace it and lose yourself in it. Quite frankly, with 40 hours of gameplay in the single player campaign, and the amount of customization possible, this game is fantastic!

Titan Quest is geen memorabel meesterwerk zoals Diablo 2, maar weet goed in te spelen op de noden van de fans van het genre.

Dass Helden und Monster ausziehen, einander zu prügeln, kommt in Computerspielen häufiger vor. Aber nirgendwo schaut das schöner aus als hier. Sie sind herzlich eingeladen zum Metzelfest. Wann? Ab dem 30. Juni, ohne Pause von früh bis spät. Wo? Im alten Griechenland, Ägypten und Asien, auf den Bildschirm gezaubert von einer Grafik-Engine, die Diablo 2 aussehen lässt wie das betagte Spiel, das es ist. Worum geht's? Um den Kampf gegen Titanen, die über die Welt der Antike herfallen. Eintritt: 45 Euro.

An Titan Quest könnte ich vieles loben, von den ausbalancierten Talenten über die feine Grafik bis zu den interessanten Mischklassen und umfangreichen Kapiteln. Wichtig ist aber nur eines: Titan Quest fließt. Niemals muss ich lange auf Belohnungen warten, finde ständig Gegenstände, lerne Talente, löse Quests. Dieser perfekte Spielfluss fesselt an den Bildschirm, genau wie einst im großen Vorbild Diablo 2: Ich gebe nicht auf, bevor ich das schärfste Schwert erbeutet, den mächtigsten Zauber gelernt habe.

More so than any other action RPG I've played since the release of Diablo II in 2000, Titan Quest nails the look, feel and fun Blizzard's delightfully devilish series. There are a few chinks in its armor, but action-minded roleplaying fans that love collection loot, appreciate a deep, rewarding character development system, and playing co-op online (LAN or Internet) with up to five of their friends are going to have a blast wreaking havoc in this magical land.

Titan Quest można nazwać bezpardonowym plagiatem. Można nazwać ta grę bezczelnym klonem Diablo. Można zarzucić autorom zupełny brak innowacji. Można w końcu zarzucić im zrzynanie najlepszych pomysłów konkurencji prosto do swojego projektu. I wszystko to jest prawdą! Lecz Iron Lore tak skutecznie to zrobiło, że wyszedł im projekt wyśmienity! Długi, ciekawy i wciągający. Diablo nie pobije, lecz jest naprawdę blisko swego starszego brata, który póki co wciąż utrzymuję pozycję króla hack&slashów. Titan Quest w moim mniemaniu ma predyspozycje do zostania księciem. Księciem, którego Diablo nie ma prawa się wstydzić.

Titan Quest vergleiche ich am liebsten mit einer Ex-Freundin. Nicht, weil ich in diesem Spiel eine fiese Hydra nach der nächsten über den Nil schicke, sondern weil ich das Spielprinzip genauso gut kenne wie sie. Jedes Element erinnert mich an Diablo oder World of Warcraft. Echte Neuerungen bietet Titan Quest nicht. Gut, die Gegner rennen einem nicht ganz so kopflos gegen die Axt wie in Blizzards Höllensaga, aber ansonsten hat man die Monsterhatz schon mal erlebt. Stört mich aber nicht, denn schlaflose Nächte sind mit Titan Quest vorprogrammiert. Ach ja: Der kooperative Mehrspielermodus lief in unserer Testversion nicht. Ein Nachtest folgt voraussichtlich in der nächsten Ausgabe.

Вот уже шесть лет разработчики всей планеты силятся повторить успех Diablo 2. Творение Blizzard можно любить до потери сознания или яростно ненавидеть, но нельзя отрицать, что оно принесло своим создателям миллионы эль президенте, стало частью поп-культуры и по сей день собирает толпы людей на бесплатных серверах Battle.net. If it's difficult to talk about Titan Quest without talking about Diablo, it's for a good reason. The games industry is arguably the most iterative of the modern entertainment mediums, second only to popular music. And when you're starting out fresh like Iron Lore is, it's not a bad idea to go back to the well with a fresh take. Doing something risky like Guitar Hero or Katamari is probably better left to those who've already established other revenue, or a library of games. So although Titan Quest never quite escapes the long shadow of what came before, it does manage to please with a very long single-player campaign, 6-player co-op via LAN or Internet, and unlockable difficulty levels.

Titan Quest is what fans of the genre have been waiting for - a game that pays tribute to the rules established by its peers and suitably expands on them with contemporary graphics and physics. Whilst the game is filled with bugs, they aren't totally game-breaking by any means, and patches should improve this area. Titan Quest won't win prizes for originality, and it won't stretch your brain, but it's fun and addictive to play. Snobby RPG fans need not apply - you have your Oblivion. The rest of us though, can enjoy the new king of Hack ' n' Slash RPGs.

Soms kan het leven zo gemakkelijk zijn. Rozen zijn rood, smurfen zijn blauw en wie hack en slash zegt, denkt aan Diablo. Zo simpel is het nou eenmaal. Moeilijker is de zware taak om dit sublieme en o zo verslavende meesterwerkje van Blizzard te evenaren of zelfs van de troon te stoten. Vele ontwikkelaars hebben dit getracht, denk bijvoorbeeld maar eens aan Dungeon Siege of Sacred. Het waren beide redelijk tot goede games die enigszins in de buurt kwamen, maar Diablo zeker nog niet voorbij wisten te streven. Nu is er eindelijk Titan Quest, een nieuwe hack & slasher gesitueerd in het mythologische Griekenland. Zou THQ en diens ontwikkelaar Iron Lore het dan wel flikken? Zal Diablo wellicht ten onder gaan? Let’s find out!

So in closing, I did enjoy many aspects of Titan Quest. The combat segment of the action RPG experience is spectacular, the game looks beautiful and it offers an epic journey through a massive single-player campaign. Still, I must admit that my interest in it kept waning as time went on. Obviously, what I offer (again) is my highly subjective opinion. Someone with a different sensibility for fantasy games may find Titan Quest spectacular in every way. To be fair, Iron Lore does offer more than enough content to stir some people into that direction. What I can give you, however, is my own feelings about the game. Take that for what it's worth to you.

Overall, Titan Quest is a fun, action-filled hack-and-slash marathon that will keep those who like this style of game playing through the end. While they did include some multiplayer functionality, it is still entirely too early to see how the create-your-own-world functionality will pan out. Still, playing the single player campaign online is certainly one way to ensure you get to experiment with the other character types. While somewhat of a bear in terms of system requirements, I was able to play the game with most of the graphical options turned up making for a very beautiful and occasionally relaxing experience. Boasting over 30 hours of play time, multiple difficulty levels and an online component, Titan Quest offers enough gameplay content to make it worth a look.

It is apparent that the developers at Iron Lore, makers of Titan Quest, have played more than their fair share of the Diablo games. Though it trades a pure high-fantasy feel for a mythical take on the ancient worlds of Greece, Egypt, and Asia, Titan Quest is so similar to Blizzard's seminal hack-and-slash role-playing game series that it's essentially a warts-and-all homage. It's certainly well-made enough to please those who prefer more action and less plot in their RPGs, and there are dozens and dozens of hours of gameplay to get lost in here, but it's hard to shake the feeling that you've already seen most of what Titan Quest has to offer.

Vermits het weinig waarschijnlijk lijkt dat Blizzard binnenkort met een nieuw Diablo-game komt aanzetten, is Titan Quest het beste wat je in dit RPG-genre kan krijgen. De gestage aanpak van personageontwikkeling is heel welkom, en de omvang van de singleplayercampagne gekoppeld aan de coop-mode en de editor maakt van Titan Quest een niet echt diep, maar wel heel breed game.

Titan Quest is an unoriginal clone that isn't that interesting. The thing about the hack and slash genre is that anyone interested in it probably already played Diablo. In fact, some call this genre the Diablo genre. Titan Quest does nothing to make it stand apart from the rest of the crowd. As we all know Hillary Duff is a cheap copy off of Lindsay Lohan; we all know that Diablo was the prime blueprint for this game. Get it if you are dying for a hack and slash game, otherwise, you can save your cash for something else.

All in all, Titan Quest is a simple yet imaginative action role playing game that will appeal to new-comers to the genre as well as to fans of Dungeon Siege. This budget re-release represents decent value for money and its addictive gameplay will keep you entertained for many hours.

Mehr Spieler, mehr Probleme: Der Multiplayer-Modus macht auch nach Patch eher Schwierigkeiten als Freude. Theoretisch wäre Titan Quest ein wunderbares Spiel für LAN und Internet: Zusammen auf Monsterjagd gehen, der Heiler heilend, der Kämpfer kämpfend - aus solchem Teamwork beziehen Mehrspielermodi von Rollenspielen ihren Reiz. Dieser hier reizt auch, bloß im negativen Sinne.

Le genre hack & slash, sublimé par Diablo 2 il y a de ça six ans, semble reprendre du poil de la bête après des années de vaches maigres, si l'on met de côté les moyens Sacred et Dungeon Siege. En attendant le Hellgate London des anciens de chez Blizzard, ou encore le Loki des cyclistes de Cyanide, les amateurs de martelage de souris vont pouvoir se faire la main sur Titan Quest.

Diablo dans l'Antiquité, voilà comment résumer en trois mots Titan Quest, tant au niveau du genre de jeu proposé que de ses qualités. Remarquable à bien des égards, ce fils spirituel du fameux hack and slash de Blizzard surprend surtout par sa robustesse avec un gameplay certes basique mais intuitif et jouissif au possible, un système de progression des personnages repensé et réussi ainsi qu'une réalisation solide. Pour ne rien gâcher, il promet une aventure riche à la durée de vie colossale, même si le rythme s'essouffle largement par moment.

Depuis quelques mois, THQ n'a pas lésiné sur les occasions de me mettre l'eau à la bouche. Avec deux voyages de presse et une après-midi découverte, le risque était presque de me blaser avant même l'arrivée de Titan Quest. Mais non, la sauce a pris puisque c'est avec une certaine impatience que j'ai lancé l'installation.

Ah, Ancient Greek; shorthand for cleverness since 443 BC. If you want some more credibility for your discourse, whatever that may be, it's worth booting it in the direction of the Classics. Compare something profound with the Iliad, or be humorous about Hippocrates. If the click 'n' slash genre needs something to replace orcs and hobgoblins, what better option is there than a few Satyrs and the odd Cyclops?

It's with a pleasant sense of shock that most gamers will receive THQ's new, painfully obvious Diablo clone Titan Quest. That shock will come from the fact that developer Iron Lore genuinely does not try to fix what ain't broke. The game doesn't come at you with a lot of new features or frenetic marketing hype about how it's the next giant leap forward in action-RPGs. Titan Quest knows it's derivative. It revels in being derivative. But Titan Quest is better for it, because it focuses on being good instead of obsessing about being original.

Just when you thought that the world had seen the last Diablo clone, along comes what might be one of the best yet. Iron Lore's Titan Quest is about as close as we're going to get to revisiting the maniacally paced click 'n slash gameplay popularized by Blizzard's iconic series in the near future, and as such, it's a good thing that it manages to replicate all of its addictive qualities so well.

Jag förbannar mig själv där jag sitter kvar timme efter timme, i jakten på bara en level till. Beroendet finns där, kärleken gör det inte. Diablo goes Grekland och rollspelsgenren flyttas tio år tillbaka i tiden.

Les titres qui souhaitent un jour détrôner Diablo 2 sont certes nombreux, mais pas toujours aussi convaincants que le hit de Blizzard. C’est pourtant ce que va essayer d’être Titan Quest sur PC, il ressort d’ailleurs de ce dernier une certaine familiarité avec Diablo, au niveau du look notamment. Cependant, Titan Quest nous plonge davantage dans les grandes légendes de la mythologie antique.

Nothing sucks the air out of a brilliant game like its inevitable clone backdraft, and nowhere is that more evident than in the case of Blizzard’s Diablo. Nox, Restricted Area and Sacred pleasantly plagiarized in the past, while more recent games like Dungeon Siege and even the Champions of Norrath series gussy it up enough to almost feel like new experiences. Regardless of their success, though, they’ve all borne the weight of their demonic ancestor upon narrow shoulders. And now, the techie torch has been passed to THQ and Iron Lore, who have dubbed it Titan Quest. While this latest mob farmfest heralds seamless multiplayer, interesting character-class blending and a world editor of epic proportions, its gameplay falls short of hitting the addictive hack-and-loot formula of its impressive forbear.
