On top of all this, it has to be said that this really is a beautiful looking game. The cartoon-style graphics are simply superb and the integration of the digitised Christopher Lloyd with the hand-drawn backdrops is second to none. Check out the screen shot of Jim's Gym and you'll see Christopher Lloyd working out on a cartoon exercise machine and the whole thing is pretty much seamless. So, er... wow, it's pretty good, then? The only thing that will let it down is if you love point-and-clickers but you hate vaguely puerile, childish humour. Let's face it, though, there can't be many people like that, can there? You'd have to be the sort of person who hates 'The Simpsons' (I believe there are some) to be like that. Anyway, I love it - which must mean I'm vaguely childish and puerile too.

Players have to outsmart this alternate world's warped inhabitants to help Drew escape his animated prison. While the controls are sometimes clunky, the level of difficulty is just right for the scavenger-hunt-style puzzles, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the generous yuks.

The second half of Toonstruck follows a somewhat more traditional path - stuck in Nefarious' castle, you must escape and find your way home. At this point, however, the traditional adventure game conventions work. Toonstruck is such a well-crafted game it's hard not to enjoy yourself. The voice work is excellent and the story is amusing enough to get you through the slow parts. In the end, though, it's the puzzles that make the game so great, and finishing Toonstruck only made me wish there was a sequel looming on the horizon.

Toonstruck is a big-budget production that centers around a frustrated cartoonist named Drew Blanc (Get it? Har har!!), played by Christopher Lloyd. Drew has created a very successful children’s cartoon show called (and this one actually IS funny) "The Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun Show." As the story opens, Lloyd’s boss (the always amusing Ben Stein) orders him in no uncertain terms to go create more cute, cuddly, unthreatening bunnies or he’ll get fired.
