Uprising 2: Lead and Destroy

Uprising 2 has everything you could ever want in any type of game, if offers a good storyline/plot as well as a challenging game with action that never ceases. The graphics are exhilarating and have they clearly showcase the best terrain in any game which is a big bonus because the scenery change's instead of being boring and bland. Designing the units in the game must have been a hard task because it seems as if a lot of times have been put into them to make them far superior to units in other games, if you have 3dfx it's an extra bonus because everything seems to be even better with your 3d card because instead of just sharpening the graphics it makes the game run faster so you're not playing some slow and lagged game.

Uprising 2 is nog leuker dan zijn voorganger, maar het is meer van hetzelfde natuurlijk. Daarom krijgt het spel van mij precies dezelfde score als het eerste deel. Niet meer voor gameplay (omdat het niet genoeg veranderd is), iets minder voor graphics (omdat ze nu toch wel een beetje voorbij gestreefd zijn) en dezelfde score voor het geluid, omdat dit simpelweg nog steeds even goed is!

The people at 3DO have brought back the original RTS/FPS genre buster with Uprising 2. Refining and enhancing an already proven title, they have once again tried to draw interest into this emerging genre cross.

Abgesehen von den Sondereinsätzen, ein paar neuen Einheiten und grafischen Verbesserungen, bietet Uprising 2 keine Verbesserungen. Trotzdem: Fans bekommen wieder die solide, spielenswerte Mischung zweier Genres geboten. Sollten Sie das Spielprinzip aber erstmal antesten wollen: Uprising 1 ist seit kurzem zum Budget-Preis erhältlich.

het eerste deel van Uprising was origineel en het tweede deel werkt dit uit. Toch lijkt Uprising 2 nog te veel op zijn voorganger en maken al die verbluffende graphics de genoemde minpuntjes maar ten dele goed. De gameplay is absoluut dik aanwezig, maar Uprising 3 moet de echte klapper gaan worden. Desalniettemin een pluim voor het vasthouden aan deze vernieuwende aanpak. Spellen als deze bieden hoop voor de toekomst!

All in all, Uprising 2 is essentially more of the same game that started the action/strategy genre to begin with. The missions are interesting, the interface is more streamlined, and the graphics have been improved. The story picks up where the last game left off, and takes it to a new level with the introduction of the Trich. I loved the first game, and am very happy with this sequel. While the Trich units do not look like their human counterparts, they function basically the same - it would have improved the game more had they not matched so closely. Bottom Line: Better graphics, improved interface, same great action. The introduction of the Trich is a refreshing change over the human enemies of the first game. Human and alien units look different, but function basically the same.

В общем получилось неплохое, крепкое продолжение знаменитой игры, в котором оставлено все лучшее от первой части, но, к огромному сожалению, не добавлено практически ничего нового. Рекомендуется всем фанатам для прохождения, другим — для внимательного ознакомления.

Tactics and strategy. In the real world, success depends on mastering both. He who can solve the riddle of combining the two harmoniously will find Uprising 2: Lead and Destroy to be a boot in the rear.

While the changes to Uprising 2 are notable and (for the most part) positive, the game still manages to underwhelm because of some seemingly minor flaws.

Uprising 2 verfügt nicht mehr über den Innovationsbonus des ersten Teils, Battlezone etwa besitzt ein fast identisches Spielkonzept, das wesentlich durchdachter und abwechslungsreicher wirkt. Dennoch ist der Titel keineswegs schlecht. Sie stürmen ganz nach Wahl mit Ihrem gedrungenen Kampfpanzer kopfüber in die nächste Feindstellung oder schicken behutsam Ihre Truppen vor, um den Gegner zu schwächen und ihm zum Schluß den Todesstoß zu versetzen. Die Grafik ist besser als im Vorgänger, die Steuerung des Wraith gegt sehr geschmeidig und elegant vonstatten. An die zahlreichen Bedienelemente muß man sich natürlich erst einmal gewöhnen.

One would think, that by reading this review, that I didn't like this game. Well, they'd be only half-right. While more of a good thing can be a good thing, taking away key elements to that good thing usually isn't. I did enjoy my time playing Uprising II, but actually found myself going back to the original more often, something that shouldn't happen with a sequel. If you're interested in this type of gameplay, I'd say steer clear of this game and find the original Uprising or Battlezone. That is...unless you can find it in the bargain bin.

I slutänden saknar Uprising 2 den kontroll som finns i ett strategispel och det kan inte matcha adrenalinrusherna i en 3D-shooter. En karteditor ger lite varaktighet, men det ger varaktighet åt ett spel som du förmodligen inte kommer att spela i mer än ett par dagar.

When you look up at the heavens, and see the stars, moon, and occasionally a planet, it's hard not to be filled with a sense of awe-inspiring peace and calm -- such is the power of the heavens. In computer game land, however, the complete opposite always proves to be true -- it's just not possible to skip among the stars without annihilating everything in your path, human, alien or otherwise. Case in point: Uprising 2, sequel to the immensely popular and completely innovative Uprising, and a classic battle for galactic domination.
