Description
Virtual Deep Sea Fishing is a fishing simulation and the first 3D installment of the Korean-made
Nakksigwang series of fishing games. Unlike the previous games, it focuses on large fish. The first two choices are the location and the boat. There are 12 possible fishing places all over the world and the eight boats have unique abilities like length, beam and speed which influence the fishing.
When the player is on the sea he throws the fishing rod in the water and observes the radar after fish activity. He has several options to influence if gets a fish on the hook, including different bait and position changes in the area. An underwater camera gives further impressions.
The challenging part begins when the player tries to bring a fish in. He has to use the right combination of working with the fishing rod with mouse and moving the boat with the arrow keys. Of course the difficulty changes with the fish on the hook. The game features 18 ones, including sharks, which all have different attributes in behaviour, appetite and size.
Besides the regular fishing the game also has an tournament mode with time limits, e.g. five hours per day, and requirements regarding fish types and weights to qualify for the next round. With the gallery feature the player can watch all the big fishes he caught.
