So often developers can lose focus on the two key elements of game design: fun and playability, but by choosing to make them central components here, Gremlin has produced an absolute belter. Intense combat, splendid visuals and a wicked sense of humour make this a top-notch effort from the boys at DMA. Wild? We're absolutely delighted.

Wild Metal Country is de Quake onder de tanksims. Hoewel, eigenlijk is het geen echte sim, het is gewoon pure aktie die je zal meesleuren tot in de late uurtjes. Wat mij betreft een topper!

Wild Metal Country is by far the most fun arcade shooter I have played since Recoil. While nothing about its overall thrust is new, so many of the details involve both innovation and groundbreaking quality that it is hard to summarize them all. The graphics, sound effects and physics of motion are simply the best I have seen in this genre. Those wanting diverse and complex missions should stay far away from this product; if, on the other hand, you crave the unadulterated thrill of really intriguing and absorbing arcade combat action, you should race out and enter the world of Wild Metal Country as fast as you can.

U Wild Metal Country jsem strávil poměrně mnoho času. Bohužel mi gameska v průběhu nenabídla v podstatě nic nového a stereotyp se bohužel dostavil po pár hodinách. Tento nedostatek ale gameska nahrazuje naprosto parádním multiplayerem, v němž hra opravdu nabírá druhý dech. Pokud jste příznivci síťového hraní, pak je pro vás stažení nutností. V opačném případě ale musíte vše zvážit. Velikost archívu je trochu větší a stažení bohužel probíhá obdobným způsobem jako u prvních dvou dílů GTA. Po kliknutí na magické tlačítko download budete přesměrování na formulář, kde musíte vyplnit své údaje a teprve pak se vám zpřístupní samotné stahování. Ať už se ale rozhodnete jakkoliv, přejeme příjemnou zábavu!

Make no mistake, if you persevere with Wild Metal Country it offers some great gameplay (the combat is good fun) and some truly memorable moments. I can vividly recall the precise point when I realised that aircraft hovering above weren't necessarily friendly. And I remember being blown away when I first heard the sound of an enemy sprinkler attack (the sounds effects are excellent throughout, incidentally). Ultimately Wild Metal Country a great game, but flawed. You have to decide whether you're prepared to work through the tedious bits to get to the action. I mean, would you stick with a pretty but dull girlfriend just because she's fantastic in bed? On second thoughts, scrub that. Dumb question.

Wild Metal Country är ett hyfsat spel, men vi förväntar oss så oändligt mycket mer när det kommer från DMA Design.

Es macht einen diebischen Spaß, nach langem Herumgekurve auf einem Hügel anzukommen und den Robotern den Himmel auf den Kopf fallen zu lassen. Nach ein, zwei Tagen flaute der Spielspaß ab: Das Ganze wirkt relativ eintönig. Klar, mal ist es Nacht, mal fahre ich auf Sand und mal auf alten Gemäuern, doch ohne Zwischensequenzen oder wenigstens eine fortlaufende Text-Geschichte ähnelt sich das Geschehen in den Levels doch sehr stark. Kein Titel für den schnellen Ballerfinger, eher etwas für den actionverliebten Taktiker.

Kortom, Wild Metal Country is misschien nog het best te vergelijken met een spel in een lunapark. Een arcadespel, kort en simpel, leuk om eventjes tussen de soep en de patatten te spelen, maar niet voldoende om je lang geboeid te houden. Oppassen dus voordat je er je zuurverdiende geld aan besteedt. Er zijn misschien toch betere alternatieven op de markt!

Overall, I'd say it's a pretty average game; don't go beat someone because they're going to take the last copy, but if you see it on the shelf, give it a try. The amusement factor of launching a tank off a cliff and watching it bounce to the bottom is worth it to me.

Alors, évidemment, il est assez amusant de viser les tanks ennemis, ou de s'élancer à pleine vitesse du haut d'une montagne en observant son char faire des tonneaux. Mais, cela ne fait pas de Wild Metal Country un jeu d'action très prenant, et encore moins un jeu que les puristes des simulateurs de chars pourront adopter. Alors, essayez-le avant de l'acheter.

Un concept simple, une réalisation correcte. Parfois, la recette peut fonctionner. Pour Wild Metal Country, la mayonnaise n'aura pas prise.

Mein Panzer rumpelt wild durchs Gelände, während ich gleichzeitig steuern, zielen, schießen, feindlichen Raketen ausweichen und Energiezellen finden soll. In Wild Metal Country stecken viele frische Einfälle, aber nach einer halben Stunde beißt man entnervt in die Tastatur, weil der Tank wie ein bekiffter Rockmusiker durch die Gegend torkelt.

If you couldn’t tell by the general tone of my review, I didn’t like Wild Metal Country. Expect to see Wild Metal Country in your local Kmart bargain bin in a few months, because that’s the only place where people might consider buying such filth. One day I hope to see a tank game that can compete with Tokyo Tank Wars (arcade tank game), but until now I will continue to plonk down the quarters for tank action at my local arcade. Life is too short for games like this. Overall, this game is as patched together as its meaningless name.
