Description
Winzer Deluxe is a remake of the 1991 game
Winzer and an economic simulation about the cultivation of wine. Between one and four players inherit a vineyard with an associated farm and equipment. Then the goal is of course to start a prosperous business and to make a lot of money.
Like most games of its kind it is completely round-based, this means the player can take his time and a round ends only if the player says so. The main menu is a picture of the manor were the under menus are chosen by clicking on the corresponding part of the picture, e.g. by clicking on the vineyard all options and statistics show up which are related to the growing and cropping of the wine. Other actions are the processing, selling and distribution. Later in the game the player can use unethical tactics like adulterating the wine or sabotaging the competition.
All menus are static screens without any animation. Variety comes into play with random events which happen between round and mostly cost or bring money. About every three years a wine inspector visits the mansion to control the legality of the business.

Trivia
The save option has an interesting quirk: when loading a saved game from July in December, the loaded game is also in December, with interpolated data. The player has to restart the whole game if he wants to play on at the same date he saved. All these dates refer to the in-game calendar.
